A recommended but intense watch
I take some comfort from what he says at about 14 mins in.
Regarding the defence of Kyiv, he says something along the lines of "believe you me, there's a lot of military equipment hidden there, ready and waiting to be used".

meanwhile
Pinch of salt, but interesting if true
Absolutely, in the same way that some big military planes full of goodies lifted of from Greece the day after at least 10 Greeks were killed in Mariupol, and headed for Poland with their loads of flipping the bird to lord Putrid.
Yeah cos that'll really make a difference
I suspect a lot of these aren't NGOs at all and just private citizens who decided to drive lorries to the Polish border (hence the problems).
Honestly. How can this be treated seriously. Is there any way to verify that it no is a recent clip for starters……..
And the rest. Blood will lose out to money, just wait and see.
There was problems at the start.
NGO arriving in vans dropping stuff on the side of the road and leaving.
All delivery are been directed to central deposits sights and then been dispersed by the red Cross and local government departments.
A delegation from the un arrived today to assist in my area today.
The majority of the refugees pass through my little village then onto przymish and then on through Poland and the EU.
There is just not enough people to organise numbers of people and the arrival of ade at the start.
Currently I am housing 14 fire services personnel who travelled from the German polish border to give relief and rest to our local service.
Where Putin is concerned, it will not matter what excuse he use's. If he decides ( if he has not already) that Ireland is an enemy of Russia, and has proven it by attacking its embassy, then Ireland is an enemy.
Regarding sanctions, I think all sanctions should be given a time period before they can be reviewed. Like starting with 2 years no matter what happens. This early stage in the invasion as to how we react is so important.
Unbelievable right ?
for a country known for freedom of speech as much as putin's russia
That has been happening also.
Only people Collecting refugees are allowed travel up to the pedestrian area now or locals.
No trucks or vans allowed now.
One of the main reasons that Ukraine has garnered unbridled support internationally is because it acted defensively, rather than offensively. Imagine what people would be saying if it made the first strike. Ditto, America. You would have people on here calling them war-mongers
I think they exist by simply by some of the military inaction from NATO and very careful chosing of words. The US/EU administrations know a lot more than they are telling the public. Why would they say it outright as it would do no good other than cause absolute panic.
They know how far to push Putin. The Russian military might be in the gutter but that doesn't mean they don't have weapons that can destroy parts of Europe and the US.
There are two options on the table here and neither of them are good. Non military action and letting Ukraine fight the war themselves unfortunately is probably seen as the less worse option.
Has mr pooh-tin being making any outlandish/moronic statements etc in recent days or is he leaving it to his fcuk wit loyalist such lavrov etc…..?
also has there been any quotes from ‘Gorbachev’ or is his ‘away in a home’ with his mind ‘gone’….?
Not being at all frivolous, but the climate change stuff is off the table now isn't it?
I do happen to come from a rural background and although I've never cared for 'footing turf' as a teenager, I'd be up for getting back into it now. At least it's 'sustainable' but not in a way a climate change activist would mean.
It's kinda poetic the way some of the societal issues we've been discussing viciously in this forum over the last few years have been put into perspective over the Russian invasion. Reality bites.
I heard some guy on the radio saying a lot of the clothes donated were basically clothes that the owners would not wear most likely a lot of crap think that happens a bit in theses situations .
How long before the UK parliament address this issue?
Sadiq Khan spoke out about the issue weeks before the invasion but it's the government who have to act on it.
Really
Anyone here who works high enough up in Google who might be able to change the labels for Shannon and Limerick City on google maps?
Unfortunately it appears the Tories want to drag their heels for as long as possible in order to give the maximum possible time for their cronies to get their money safely out before they bring in any actual "sanctions" on them
There were reports here on this forum pre invasion days that a superyacht under maintenance in Germany, but supposedly belonging to Putin, abruptly departed even before the maintenance was completed. But that's not to say that he only has one yacht,,
Can you imagine the resources the Yanks are putting into flying out a forensic crew to it? :P
I've heard the words "Russian attack playbook" across far too many media channels the past few days.
This is a very difficult problem, to be fair.
How can you stop anyone buying up property in London? Can you say only Russian's can't, or nobody can?
I would suggest as a minimum one can't buy property and leave it vacant, certainly not in a highly sought after area like London. But then they'd only make more money if their let their property's out. It's a bit late now anyway, and Labour didn't do anything about it when they were in office, so you can hardly put all the blame on the Tories.
The climate problem is not only not going away but is getting worse and assuming nukes aren’t in the equation , it will be responsible for the death, misery or inconvenience of far more people than this war.
Mikhail Gusev is facing charges for holding a sheet of paper that says "*** *****", it corresponds to the phrase "No war" in Russian. It doesn't take much to get the Russian police riled up these days.
Does it really matter whether it was today or last year? This is what Russia is now.
