Thanks very helpful....
That's the one. I can see that my car was registered yesterday - I guess they've more than a few to get through.
Anyone who picked up from Baldonnell that also traded in? did you just bring your trade-in with you and they took it from you there?
It didn't feel anything like a motor dealership though, no sign of a salesman promising personal support or a service department encouraging me to buy advance servicing or the like. More like collecting something from Argos.
Thats because its not a dealership. Its actually more akin to buying from the Sandyford Ikea store - direct from the manufacturer.
3 weeks of ownership and 600km covered.
Really impressed by the efficiency on my daily commute so far.
Celbridge to Ballsbridge - 26km each way averaging between 130 and 140 Wh/km of power consumption with climate set at 20 degrees, temperatures outside between 4 and 10 degrees. Preheating before departure and using heated seats & steering wheel.
It's good alright, I have over 1000km already in 9 days, just be aware that the trip page only appears to includes motive energy used and does not include heating etc. My 88 km today showed 13.5 kWh/100 km which looks great, however if I work it by % battery used it looks more like 15.5 kWh/100km, still good.
The screen you are on I use only in average range mode, which gives a good indication what range you can expect from your recent driving.
From what people have posted already it was a simple hand the car over, give keys, VLC and that was it.
Some saying they didn’t even check the car other than Reg, Vin and mileage.
How long does the Trade-in valuation normally take?
I posted them all the details / photos earlier this week.
About a week give or take.
It can also depend on how quick their trade buyers come back to them.
@JOL1
see picture attached. Select any source and then click on the three vertical bars on the right hand side. You can then decide which sources to view in the subsequent screen. Hopefully this helps. If not, let me know 👍🏻
How long does it take from order online until AIB finance contacts for details etc. ordered a couple of weeks ago and no word - updated all on manage account etc. in fairness delivery date is August or longer 😂
Definitely ring or email
I had this same thing and only after staying on hold for nearly an hour, a UK Tesla rep answered and I think kicked the Ireland team into action. Within an hour things got moving!
They will contact you about 2-3 months before expected delivery date.
I collected a M3 SR last week and traded a Golf R in against it. I parked up in the car park and they didn't even come out to look at the Golf despite its decent trade in value. They just asked for the keys and the logbook and that was it. I was half expecting to at least check if it was as described but no. Almost too simple.
They are not the ones buying it off you so they don't really care.
It'll get loaded up as is and sent off to the dealer that put in the highest bid for it at the time you submitted the valuation.
I know that's how it works but I thought they would at least check I hadn't wrecked it or lost a wheel/door before accepting it. I signed a document with lots of fine print which probably protects them but it surprised me that they accepted a €30k trade in without visually verifying it.
3-4 days for me but I was buying an inventory car.
Have my delivery date and time (March 25th), made the final payment. Payment showing up as received on my order page. When should I expect to get my registration number? Need to go shopping for insurance.
About a week before collection you'll be texted the reg.
If you need a reg sooner for insurance quotes, just ask them and they'll give you the reg of a similar spec car.
I'm in the same boat as you!
You'll have your reg before this weekend I'd guess.
My buddy got his reg for his Model Y on the Friday for pickup on Sunday so they can cut it tight.
On insurance, 123.ie gave me a quote without a reg. Chill couldn't do it online because their databases didn't have my reg even after a few days. I rang them and got a quote (way way above the 123 quote). Its for women gave me a quote on the chat function, they don't even have tesla in the system so quoted me for some BMW Roadster.
I'm pretty sure the boat made it. I got my the day after Siene Highway arrived in Dublin - must have been at the front of the boat.
Just on the topic of insurance quotes, what ballpark premium are you getting on model 3?
For me, they all seem to start higher than €600 for SR+ which seems off (especially since I have full NCD, no claims, no points, etc)
Depends on so many things, whether you are rural or live in a city, off street parking, age, previous driving history, loyalty (Whether other cars, items) with them, etc etc. Plus helps to physically talk to someone on the phone and tell them they are robbers..🙂. Half joking, but seems to work sometimes..
FWIW, both our insurances did not increase recently when we changed from an Ioniq 28 to an Ioniq 5 and from an ID.3 to a Model 3. With Aviva over many years, for other insurances as well.
Just on the insurance side of things. Mine is up for renewal and I'm wondering are any insurers more sympathetic to EV's than others?
123.ie were the best for me. I have both my Model 3 & my 320d insured with them.
123 came in at €467 [M3 RWD, 38M, 1 of two household cars, off street, suburban, 3 points, 10+ yrs full licence and NCD]
Chill were over €600
123 seem very competitive. How do you respond to question about whether car has
a) alarm
b) Immobiliser
c) alarm and immobiliser
d) alarm, immobiliser and tracking device
i also don’t see Model3 RWD listed but imagine the Model 3 S+ is similar.
anyone have experience with these issues?
I'm with 123 but they are coming in at €800. 2nd year in my own name. 15 years as a named driver in the wife's policy and 15 years on my own commercial policy. No points either. I'll ring around!!
