Coz they can
Well this gave me a laugh for a brief moment 😊
Yeah you too
Eh they just might carpet bomb Kyiv yet- they haven’t had a chance to date but they’ve carpet bombed other areas- and anyways keep up, carpet bombing is so last week, it’s chemical warfare coupled with nuclear terrorism this week- ticsh, carpet bombing, how quaint
And if they do it should be the line that shouldn't be crossed without serious repercussions - indiscriminate killing of masses of people and not just killing but an absolutely horrific way to die with drawn out suffering
Surely some evidence can be shown that they will use chemical weapons in Ukraine? "Coz they can" is a primary school debating level.
🤔So we're both cynical cúnts then. 😂
I suspect it's purely about maintaining anti-EU and anti-NATO sentiment within Russia. They'll show selective sections of the UN proceedings and say something like: "This is how the West treat the genuine concerns of the Russian people".
It could also be used to frame/explain attacks on civilian areas: "We were forced to bomb this children's hospital because there was a biolab in the basement".
Or more worryingly it could be used to justify Russia making some sort of preemptive WMD attack or false flag involving WMDs....
Exactly the reason why you won't want chemical weapons falling into the wrong hands in Ukraine (or the right hands), it would be so perfect for them to draw NATO into a direct conflict with Russia.
I suspect they want the "volunteers" to spearhead assaults and as front-line troops. Not that they actually seem to care about their own conscripts but presumably they would like less of them dying so anti-war sentiment back in the motherland doesn't grow out of hand.
No, I'm not saying I like America's approach or think they are good or clean fighters.
The one proof that the Kremlin truly think that the Ukrainian are Russian is their willingness to kill them.
The greatest killer of Russians, their most resolute enemy, an enemy that consistently is among the most murderous in history is always their own leadership.
That’s one description 😜👍
Actually we’re probably both just been around for a while and have seen a lot so can recognise bullsh1t when we see it - but yeah, the cynic in me when it comes to corporate statements especially that McDonaldz press release - makes me puke- talk about sitting on the fence- apparently Russia is 10% of their turnover so not small apple pie .
Beware the Ides of 'garch.
Ermm, yeah Ukrainians are gonna raid the local bio lab and release the deadly toxins on their own people - right!
Syria.
Would Russia last a day in a war with NATO?
Nothing suggests that they would.
They are getting their clock cleaned by the Ukraine, never mind a modern Army.
Well they can't actually carpet bomb Kyiv because they don't have air superiority. As far as I can see their strategic bombers have only been able to fire expensive standoff weapons: i.e. cruise missiles and the like.
It's not clear if they have actually started using their thermobaric weapons yet either; so it's hard to judge exactly what they might or might not do to Kyiv. Mariupol isn't looking too hot at any rate that's for sure.
Labaik threadbanned
Look you exposed yourself earlier when you got offended that a poster saw oxen in fields in russia in the 90s and you took offense and thought they were slaggi g the population. You're no more Irish than my pair of puma's are. Throwing out random colloquial statements won't bring you back to the center again.
One point made on I think it was CH4 news tonight or might have been Sky, can’t remember- They said (and don’t know how true it is so someone else feel free to correct)- Barrack Obama announced his red line in the past and didn’t act on it- hence no “red line” announced this time round from the world leaders especially the US
It just gets more depressing for Ukraine- not even a red line issued that they won’t act on anyway
They now own Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
And their probably taking orders from some fat headed Russian general with long term venereal disease who has a bad signal mobile phone link to the Kremlin - we’re all fcked
The Council of Ministers of the USSR decided to build a series of nuclear power plants, including the Zaporizhzhya NPP, in 1978 after the first unit of the Chernobyl NPP began operations
they seem to think becuase they built it its rightfully theirs...
Would be a fine thought process to have if the goal was ever about 'liberation' of russian speakers from 'oppression'.
Which we all know was bollix, even the Crimea bit. Crimea was about access to the sea and shoring it up entirely.
The current war is about the EU, not nato not Russian speakers not any of that ****. It's about quality of life infecting Russia through information and attrition.
Putin needed to stop that or lose power.
Seems he's losing it anyway.
Personally I've no idea how 100 million bounty from a few of his hanger off'rs couldnt have him taken out.
On the plus side, they are slightly less likely to blow it up now
Looking at putin with Lukashenko today on sky news. putin looks like his face has been stung by load of bees. Constantly fidgeting in his seat, his feet are constantly going. Something is wrong with him. He somehow makes Lukashenko look healthy.
Meta/Facebook now allowing calls to violence against Russians.
It's about time too. The most savaged, tortured, ethnically cleansed civilian population in history needs more death threats against them.
Something you said there Wibbs -“avalanche responses”-,hmmmm, the cynic in me does say avalanches do come to an abrupt halt eventually too - I feel this war could become an inconvenience for some quite soon
Remember the Billy Connolly joke he got so much abuse for about a kidnapping?

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett pushed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to accept an offer from Russian President Vladimir Putin, which would require Kyiv to make significant concessions to end Russia’s invasion, a senior Ukrainian official said Friday, according to two Hebrew media reports.
