Why is it called Electric Picnic by the way? I always had it in my mind that there was an electronic music element to it but that line-up is far from it!
Big lack of Picnics too
Sigur Ros playing 3Arena on Thursday 17th November.
Must have said to yerself "I was Wrrrrooooonnng"
Don't forget tickets for https://nightandday.ie/ are on sales this morning.
It is a Picture This free zone
Phoebe Bridgers already sold out. Wasn't sure it would seem so quickly
Pretty much sold out in presale.
Very few tickets left for general sale.
Yeah was thinking that was part of it alright, not sure what sort of cap there was on presale for it. Hopefully she plays a bigger venue next time or adds another night.
Goldfrapp added as support for Duran Duran
I hesitated to buy a ticket - feel she’d be much better in an indoor venue.
It’s still showing as ‘low availability’ on ticketmaster. But no tickets when you search. Is it definitely sold out?
Fairview Park is indoors, its a tent.
They should better advertise the fact that its in a tent.
That makes sense!
Agreed, it has been very unclear, would be better marketed as something like
- The Marquee @ Fairview Park.
What is the actual point of a presale? I can understand for fanclub members or for customers of sponsors eg O2 (I don’t like it, but I at least see the point behind it).
But a presale where you just need to do a bit of googling to get the url for it? It’s just inconvenient, and it appears to be the “real” sale when most tickets go.
Yeah I think it's a bit on pricey side too. Yeah seems to be sold out alright unfortunately
Her tickets in the UK were less than 40 euro, they were almost 60 in Dublin, big difference.
Yeah saw her in 2019 in Vicar Street with Conor Orbest as Better Oblivion group and was 30 odd. Not sure has she played solo here before (or if she has probably at least 4 years ago now) so hard to gauge prices but does seem bit pricey in comparison to here. Dunno is it justified by only playing 1 gig here, transport cost of sending over gear etc that can probably be spread out accords shows in UK but even still.

Saw that, nice one!
It'll be in the main room :)
Halestorm teased a swift return this year at their Olympia gig last weekend, support for someone perhaps?
Saw the Rolling stones teased their european tour on their socials, no Irish date anyway judging by what they posted
Dya reckon most big tours have been announced for the summer at this stage? Seems like most big venues have either filled their allocations or announced everyone who will be playing at this stage. With no word on Slane, reckon they're waiting until next year at this stage?
Looking like it now
Maybe we might get a few Arena tours for later in the year
It's like 2023 will be a new slate for tours due to all the reschedulings due to covid
Seems that way alright, i mean Aiken pretty much used up all the allocation for Croke Park and other stadiums around the country with only MCD using 2 for the Aviva but with games happening in the summer doubt there will be more like, im surprised the RDS hasnt had any shows announced/booked usually they put the acts for reading and leeds in there. For Slane considering they said they were exploring the possibility of having two gigs there this year im surprised they didnt announce anything thought Coldplay would be a nailed on for it tbh, probably see bigger tours in 2023 I'd say considering this year is mainly pre-covid and smaller tours, we still have no idea will the conflict at the moment halt some tours if the situation escalates
Sunstroke?
Wonder do venues in the States/Europe and the UK etc have these 'non sporting events limits per year'
(Waiting for my boards stalker to hound me about this)
Yep, think that's it for now, between how packed the calenders are, the fact that there's still travel restrictions and the current cost of fuel (when fuel goes up everything goes up) I don't see anything large scale being announced that isn't already locked down.
That'd be nice, although I have a feeling it could be supporting MCR.
Ohhhh.
Probably not.
