I can't see the Japanese going kinetic, to use the current buzzword, over those Northern Territories. Though I suppose, now would be the time to go for it, if they were so inclined.
You are upset that someone used the phrase 'final solution' even though you know it had absolutely nothing to do with the context you seem to infer it was.
That's just choosing to be outraged.
I disagree, if Putin gets served his own tea I think all sanctions will be removed. There will be conditions, such as reparations and Ukraine being allowed to start the NATO/EU process.
What could possibly have planted the idea that our pro-Russia cheerleaders have Nazi sympathies. Oh, wait, stuff like this.
Did any of you ever hear of the oldest and probably best quote/assessment with regard to war time reporting on facts figures etc etc……..’the first casualty of war is the truth’……accurate non biased fact figures are impossible to obtain…….bbc reports and other so called ‘reputable’ sources are as likely to have as many skewed/ biased facts as the Russian news stations/agencies have
the amount this will have cost Russia once it is over is astronomical, thats why they must come away with a V, I think they will therefore be forced into using all their weapons of mass destruction, its almost harder for them to pull out and lose face than become way more gruesome
I would be inclined to agree with you, but then I spotted this...
It's an interesting read.

They'll probably do like they did at the fall of the Soviet Union. Install some drunk clown in 'power' like Boris Yeltsin while the crazy criminal elements gobble up the entire territory until nobody in the place can take it anymore and demand some 'Strong man' to come in and deal with it. Rinse and repeat.
Seems to be a suggestion around new weapons deliveries to Ukraine , including Improved and more capable air defense systems that are significantly better than manpads .
That could be interesting if it happens
To date the Russians have only deployed their ‘FCA’ equivalent soldiers and equipment……their best/worst is yet to arrive……??
Not to get too off-topic, but isn't it the whole European ideological idea that nations should integrate with others. So in that vein, what's wrong with Saudi or Russian or the Chinese 'integrating' in European countries by whatever way they feel like. And the way is buying up football clubs, high rise apartment blocs in highly sought after expensive areas in London, and so on.
There are a very few 'pro-Russia cheerleaders' popping up in this thread, and they are quickly dispatched by the lad in the tin hat. Most of your 'pro-Russia cheerleaders' are imaginary.
I suspect it's a symptom if people watching the war on telly or on social media from the comfort of their own homes and wanting to fight someone, anyone, just to feel like they're a part of it.
Politico: "Biden personally killed Ukraine jet transfer that Blinken green-lit and Poland wanted”
Russia is totally fcuked and they know it.
They are probably looking for a way out but not able to find one.
They deployed special forces and airborne assault units , didn't get them far
If there were visible signs that the 'regime' was genuinely changing and moving back towards better relations with the West, you could see a lot of sanctions being lifted quickly.
To be honest, it's hard to see how the sanctions can be lifted whilst the tyrant remains in the Kremlin....he has already burned his bridges with the West.
I hope I misheard that clip before PT ... What was that about deporting Russians not connected to diplomacy?
That's arse over tits surely...
Yes, and they have also restated their claim to the Kuril Islands. So the msg is clear to Vladimir.....hands off!!
I'm thinking more and more that this is not a 'winnable' war for Russia. Yes, they have a lot of troops, but Ukraine is such an enormous country and they have to maintain a presence in all of the areas they have taken already. As they move further and further inland their supply lines are going to be extremely difficult to defend too. Every step they get closer to the big cities, the smaller and more poorly supplied they become.
These are punishments for the regime. If the regime changes, the sanctions would go. Nobody wants to punish ordinary Russians unnecessarily.
So this is where all the posters who use to bicker with each other about Covid have gone
I did have a good laugh at a pom-pom clad cheerleader for Russia talking about imaginary things.
When the war ends, and it will end, every pro putin tyrant will be hunted down and they will receive whatever form of justice is deemed suitable.
You seem very engaged by somebody picking up on a very deliberate reference. Almost as if one account makes the post and another account goes into battle on it.
Weird.
Still it will be cheaper than IIIWW
It’s how the money has been “earned”, not where the people are from
There is one way Russia can win - depopulation of Ukraine through a combination of mass population exodus and genocide.
44 million people is a lot to remove though and would make the Holocaust look tame.
Is that how they described the Chechens that were obliterated?
Has there been any commentary from Gorbachev on this madness……he’s still alive, 91 years young I believe but maybe has ended up like Regan did in his latter years…?
You could be right. I just wonder if the west will be afraid of a scenario where they make a full economic recovery and then another dictator comes along down the line and there's a renewed threat to the west. I think it's possible they might just put their foot on Russia and keep it there even if Putin is gone.
