Ger had a great speech this morning. Such intriguing ideas about how football teams in england should be run. Top class radio from a top class person!!!
Can’t believe they covered Russia getting kicked out of the World Cup. They should only cover what happens on the pitch, not all this WOKE (all caps) nonsense.
Right on dude. The guys on otb are tackling the Russian issue with such integrity.
Didn't hear them.
Looking forward to their boycott of the world cup next year though if they have such strong views
Must listen back to the piece with Jason Sherlock last night only heard a few minutes of it. Aspiring coaches of any sport would do well to listen to Sherlock.
I'm surprised that Joe was surprised with Evan Comerford covering the space a few weeks ago against Kerry seen as this was widely commented on during the championship last year when other teams were doing it.
Maybe Joe missed it as there was a rooster controversy or some other agenda driven non sporting tweet liking controversy he was concentrating on at the time.
Listen to the piece. He's not surprised with what Comerford was doing, more that teams haven't countered it by sticking a big man on him and targeting the area he is covering. It's a fair point and will happen in the summer.
Or he was hosting a 6 Nations show maybe.
Were the six nations on last July and August when the football championship was going on?
The podcasts on the OTB app are very glitchy. Listening to the Football Pod and it keeps jumping back 40 or 50 seconds every 15 minutes or so. And not just in this podcast.
The OTB app is really terrible. I just use a normal podcast app
Same thing happens me on pocketcasts as well so must be how they're being created
Richie mccormack was anything but boring on the newsround last night. Top quality analysis of the pundit Roy Keane.
Richie is going strength to strength on otb. Lovely guy
Hi Richie
I see fishing is your preferred sport.
Ah cmon, Richie desveres a bit of kindness.
What was the end of that Sid Vicious quote again Richie?
Lol
Just saw this now as I only catch show if changing dial these days setting timer. I suggest you listen again objectively. And in future attack the post and not the poster? As is oft said on boards.ie.
Giles said if ‘Zouma murdered someone what would he (Moyes) do?’ Attempting to imply that there was a comparable level of outrage to murder. Giles was rightly reined in by Nathan IMO. Saying ‘You do not have to jump to the extremes of murder.’

But IMO it sounded really silly odd topic as it was. Never mind the hyperbole guff. That was just my sense of it anyway.
Last night on the News round they were discussing an Irish woman who works for one of the F1 teams.
Joe explained that while she is not the team manager, she could make a mistake that would make her the fall guy. Or fall person as Joe quickly corrected himself.
I will field this I don’t listen to the show. Have Newstalk set in morning on radio. Then change it in evening when setting timer. Feel I just outgrew the show didn’t like it seemed predictable heard it all before. Only respect one presenter on it Nathan. As he thinks he’s on his feet plus no obvious agenda.
But as I said I just stopped listening. And I am much the better for it. In the boards radio topic in general it seems to be fuelled by posters who just want to gripe about a show at any chance.
Tubridy thread and liveline are the worst offender’s. But it permeates through most of the radio threads.
Where there is a cohort who feel they are soldiering with the ‘smartarse’ clique. Nothing objective about it. I don’t want to be one of ‘those’ posters. So if I don’t enjoy it I switch off. Simple.
Taking a perverse enjoyment about hating something/someone is odd to me. But maybe some are ‘entertained’ in that odd way. Most posters who do this seem like oddballs IMHO.
It’s the impression I get anyway. It seems to attract posters of that certain type of sneering mindset with f all else to do. Making up sneering boards ‘pet names’ for radio presenters etc. Oddball stuff.
It has ruined the radio topic in general because of this. Because it is so one sided. To the extent I assume many are put off engaging on it as they would previously. But sure if it is how people get their kicks and they are not breaking any laws - they could be doing worse I suppose.
Christ, haha
Ooooooh close one for Joe ! He might have been sacked or cancelled !
Cool story. PC gone mad.
Your summation of media threads is my view exactly.
There was a thread started recently specifically for the purpose of cataloguing the supposed daily mistakes of one presenter.
That presenters show already has it's own thread!!
There is something very hateful about the motivation to start such a thread on something that you can so easily avoid. Psychologically it's very interesting but its still incredibly frustrating. And while the rest of the site, or significant portions of it, descent in to a police state in terms of moderation, there is no moderation of these forums anymore it seems and the place is just withering away.
(As for my specific position, I too simply avoid shows I don't enjoy. It's way too easy to access content I do so why would I do that to myself? I could avoid these threads in the same way but I have an issue with just letting the above mindset win and so I engage and respond to these posters and call them out on their negativity. And I am acutely aware that my content in this manner is probably as annoying as theirs and I get little to no enjoyment from the thread at this point, but so be it. Why should that attitude be allowed to dominate?)
Such an edgy post.
I've noticed OTB podcasts seem to be gone from player fm.
They had a notice the other day in Twitter about some changes to their podcasts. Stopped working for me on Podcast Addict for a few days but back working again now. Probably no harm to drop them a tweet
Yes. That's what I said.
John asked what would moyes do if a player murdered somone???
And funny you should say, attack the post not the poster, when your post replying to Billy ocean attacks posters of the radio forum.
Ger was on the ball again this morning, when discussing the owners of Newcastle, and the manager Howe couldn't answer the vital important questions in the press conference.
Ger is right, as per usual. Great discussion with eoin this morning!
