Probably air strike it rather than let it fall into Russian hands.
Re the foreign currency embargo - you can get up to $10 thousand in foreign currency and the rest in Rubles only, wonder how long their foreign currency reserves will last, can't see it being that long
Yeah because what you said was nonsense..they had no interest in "surrending"...if they did who exactly would make a fuss?
If they didnt offer refuge would you be saying they hung him out to dry?
The UK offered refuge to Free French, do you think that meant they werent bothered if France surrendered?
Why dont you move to Russia, criticise the war there and tell us what fuss went down.
Plot twist
I dont see how Russia can win this anymore. Even if they take Ukraine and that's an if, their economy is absolutely fcuked. Their reputation worldwide is in the dirt. No one believes them about anything. People are making comparisons to N. Korea, but that situation developed in a very different time in history and over many generations. Russia has ended up that way in two weeks. There is not a hope Putin can hang into power if this keeps up. Russians love their McDonalds. Putin is McFcuked.
So you just the wrote the opposite of what I said.
I support the migs move though it's very risky too. We'll see how it plays out
If they made that decision fine...but they haven't...quite the opposite...and the people clearly agree with Zelenskyy.
America offering safe passage to Zelenskyy isn't them not being bothered.
You have me wrong and my feelings waver. I take your points about the value of fighting, I just find the suffering unspeakably sad and the keyboard warrior cheerleading by some people here extremely hollow. But obviously an unconditional surrender is not the answer either. I really don't know. If they do fight on, they need much more military support and I wish they could get it.
Unfortunately like it or not we are slowly edging towards WW3 ,the EU and NATO are supplying Ukraine with weapons and real time intelligence on Russian forces and now Poland are sending their Mig 29s to Rammstein base for American to deploy to Ukraine,
The Match was lit and now the petrol is slowly rolling towards the flame
What's remotely war mongering about it?
Were those who fought the Nazis war mongers?
The war mongers are those who start the war.
That would be the Russian Nazis, wouldn't it?
Fascinating how many bots we have here pushing the Russian Nazi line.
EDIT: yeh got there first
I'd say you have a point. Especially the ones who are pausing operations rather than totally pulling out.
The ship is sinking. The Russians just are probably starting to realise who is going to pay the bill for the "peace operation".
I don't understand the fuss about Ukraine surrending.
Even America offered refuge to the Ukrainian President in the first day or two of the war suggesting America wasn't too bothered if Ukraine surrenders.
Which also makes me think - how many of these companies are pulling out out of protest against Russia bar it has become unsustainable to operate there when your core costs have doubled making your end product too expensive to buy...
But you still won't be allowed get BBC in Russia comrade and now that Netflix has been cut off your old lady is probably up on the chimney trying to adjust the coat hanger!
It's not up to you though.
The majority of Ukranians it seems would rather not lose their country to a dictator and are willing to fight for it. The west is clearly involved militarily at this stage (bar troops on the ground and air)...the deal with the migs is upping the ante.
How long do you think peace (whatever that would look like) would last? Ukranians will likely still try to fight back even if under Russian rule. How long before Putin moves on to other countries like Moldova or even Poland?
This is a big one : Fitch believes the Russian economy is about to go bust
The 'C' rating reflects Fitch's view that a sovereign default is imminent.

Not if the fight they put up reduces Russian demands to something Ukraine can live with in security peace and freedom for the next generation.
Accepting a defenceless ally-less status for Ukraine now will be like Munich. Russia will be back for more next time. And it wont be pretty then either when anyone who speaks out against Russia is disappeared, imprisoned or meets an 'accident'.
Western countries are giving all help short of direct intervention. Putin has to choose now between moderating his demands or facing into a new Cold War.
If you think the price isnt worth it then thats your call. But acknowledge you are calling on Zelensky to surrender.
I never realised until this war just how war mongering some Irish people are!
Luckily, NATO isn't going to take your approach.
Nonsence, they are now paid in bread.
The hostages being forced to stay at the plant and keep it running are not in a nice situation or being well treated, from something I heard yesterday.
The currency is effectively worthless, which means inflation will continue to soar so it will affect a lot of people, and like you say they can't buy a load of foreign currency now which is more likely to hold its value. expect hyper inflation to take hold quickly. I think similar happened in the 20s in Germany...you basically needed a wheelbarrow of cash to buy a loaf of bread.
NATO bombing the **** out of the Russian Nazis and Putin meeting the same end as Gaddafi sounds good to me.
And then Russia being forcibly broken up and ceasing to exist as a state sounds even better.
That's what needed. Russian nationalism is a malignant cancer in the rectum of humanity.
Yeah really ... AFAIK they can use the Budapest memorandum to do it.
Based on this...until it's cut off
They released an image with a glass teapot but didn't Photoshop the reflection on it
