He's subjecting Ukrainians, not Russians, to the worst possible life experience
Maybe the planes are already there.... how would we know.
Patriot, Iron Dome, S-400, HQ9, and a number of other missile defense systems https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missile_defense_systems_by_country have varying capabilities to intercept varying missile, uav other threat types.
Modern war seems to be just a game. NATO could nuke Putin out of it and Putin could nuke his way to victory in Ukraine but they have a gentlemen's agreement not to do it. Instead they sit back and watch the foot soldiers duke it out while occasionally taking a sip of red wine.
Perhaps all nukes could be moved to a specially created war country in the sahara. That country's sole purpose would be to host wars and nuke countries that play foul. They'd have a big arena in the desert complete with abandoned cities (some constructed especially for the purpose) where soldiers from warring countries would go to slay each other using only melee weapons. The specially created war country will be funded by ordinary folks paying artificially inflated fuel prices for a period before and after the war.
Russia is not acting in the interests of her people.
They'll do whatever they want, irrespective of whether the Russian population are sympathetic to them or not. Just take a look at the 12,000 recently arrested and jailed for protesting against Putins' choice war of aggression.
They are for the regime. Even if there is no voter fraud, or coerced media, Vladimir Putin still wins an election. They chose him. They can deal with the consequences.
For Some reason ordinary Russians seem to enjoy such strong leaders despite the same leaders **** on them repeatedly for the last 100 years it's like groundhog with despot leadership ,and repeat over and over,at least they saw some semblance of freedoms in the late 90s
This war is starting to look more like a genocide.
Great point regarding the potential state of their nuclear stockpiles. I assume there’s no public information on this subject but it’s a valid hypothesis considering what we’ve seen since the Ukrainian invasion. Not that we want to test any theories but interesting nonetheless.
Really? Seems like any Russians who lived through cold war will have a sense of deja vu. Cut off from West... war in Afghanistan / Ukraine. This time they are thrown out of sports and cultural events but have Russian only interweb.
Zelensky vows to fight Russia in 'forests, fields and shores' - Churchillian to the core
That's my point though. Should those 12,000 and undoubtedly many more like them be barred from performing in the west? barred from dating apps? I mean dating apps, come on.
Thoughts and prayers....lol
The US and NATO Already Said publicly they were supplying real time intelligence from the skies ,
But since the afghan invasion the Russians don't committ large numbers of aircraft for attacks ,I actually believe that last time time Russia committed large numbers of aircraft in a conflict was during the Korean war when they went after UN forces trying to protect South Korea
There could be issues with apps with facilitating payments / advertising and the whole russia isolating itself from internet.
No Pepsi, No Coke, No Irn-Bru, no KFC, No McDs.....we're going to create the healthiest Russian population with fantastic specimens ready to fight us. Great.
The reality is that if the UK / EU / West believed that this would lead to Nuclear War; they wouldn't be supporting it.
Clearly, the risk of nuclear war is real, but you often have to ask yourself, what do the government know that I don't?
While others seem to believe he's preparing to surrender to putin..
Going by that speech alone ,he and they (ukraine) don't seem to be prepared to lay down for Putin
I am reminded of a quote about there still being one weakness...
That was always implicit in his position. NATO membership is not a holy grail for Ukranians, it's just a means to the end of ensuring what's happening now and never happens again. And the status of Crimea/Donbas was always a card he was prepared to play as part of an overarching peace deal. Need evidence of Russian good faith before he commits on these points though.
Looks like any drive thru in or around tallaght most weekends
Russia's failures in this attack so far beg the question would they have conquered all that land to the East of the Iron Curtain during WW2 without the facts of the Germans having neutralized all those countries defences beforehand and allied help in subduing Germany, maybe they have always been a paper tiger but we just havent seen it until now
What was the urban myth? That Pepsi owned the 3rd largest navy? Something like that
Is it true Russia are cremating their dead soldiers in Ukraine so as to avoid sending home body bags?
If putin wants deal he should withdraw all of his military , negotiations but what we are hearing is disband your military ,we appoint a government who will have complete control over the whole ukraine ,no democracy ,and Russian peace keepers to protect Ukraine against foreign aggression ..
What kinda deal is that other Total submission to Putin and his wants
Not an expert, but modern nukes are MIRVs which have multiple warheads from one missile. They can all target different locations, making interception very difficult. Also Russia claims to have a successful hypersonic missile. Given the speeds of these and separation into multiple warheads, stopping nukes is almost impossible. Current air defence systems could possible take out some, but you're basically toast.
Seems to be some evidence for it alright.
He was demanding to know a timeframe for NATO membership literally two weeks ago

That was intimidated. They apparently have mobile incinerators.
