I think we're going to see a big shift in the economic structure over the next while. I've been banging on for years about food being far too cheap and recently property prices have gotten far too high (in many urban areas in the west) and the way fuel and energy are generated and used are going to cause a shift as well. This is all just being accelerated now. I have zero idea what the stable outcome will be or when it will happen.

All this talk of war crimes is passing me off because that's all it is...talk. Waffle of the highest order. You do not punish war crimes retrospectively. You stop them and punish the perpetrator. It's the only thing that works. Does anyone seriously think Putin is put off by the potential of being brought up on charges. He'd laugh in their face.

I know that people are embittered because they feel like they are experiencing suppression of their freedoms, slowly. They feel like they can no longer speak freely. This is combined with the fact that our standard of living feels like it is falling. My parents between them earned below the average wage. They could afford a decent standard of living and nice house down the country. Now, people feel that they cannot afford to do anything beyond exist. Home ownership is beyond the reach of many. Pensions are set up on the basis that mortgages will be paid off and dependents reared. People cannot afford to buy and are having kids later. This means that when a person takes a pay-cut and draws their pension, they will be inflicted with old-age poverty. Where will they go if they cannot afford their rent?
Vultures prey on the above and tell the people that they have simple solutions to those problems. That is why these people are elected. People feel exasperated by their declining standard and try to fix it….
But we end up with lunatics like Wallace and Daly
