For those looking for a NATO imposed no fly zone over Ukraine, please read this.
The guy makes a lot of very important and IMHO very relevant points. TL;DR? Putin would only love a non fly zone imposed by the West so he could get more Russians on his side to this existential threat of the West. He's already trying that bullshít with the talk of nuclear material and germ warfare labs('Merican of course). Nobody with a functioning braincell in Russia, including Putin's bootlickers, sees Ukraine as a real threat to Russia, so he needs to ramp up the fear that they are and a no fly zone would hand that to him on a plate, with a bow on top. And as yer man points out with all the anti aircraft stuff going across Ukraine's borders they can have a damned good go at implementing their own 'no fly zone'. Look how many aircraft the Russians have lost in a week, including a few of their top level fighters. And these are confirmed by pics and video. Their airforce it turns out seems to be a busted flush. Underfunded and amateur hour in co-ordinated tactics. Note how few they're putting into theatre. It's usually single or double flights. And they still don't have air superiority it seems.
Compare them to the Americans in the first Gulf War thirty years ago. They blew up or grounded the Iraqi airforce in little more than a day and what was left took off at high speed and legged it to Iran, flying so low that any lower and they'd have been the world's first supersonic trucks. The Americans had stealth aircraft and anti SAM and radar aircraft fúcking up the Iraqi's means to fight in the air and hammered them on the ground too, all co-ordinated by AWACS and joined up thinking among themselves and their coalition partners. It nukes weren't in the mix and it was the Russians against Nato airforces they'd be utterly Fubarred.
TBH that's been a real surprise for me. The Russians have developed some incredible airframes over the last thirty odd years, but it seems they were either small run glorified prototypes, or produced in small numbers full stop and they don't have the resources, money and manpower or the co-ordination to use them effectively in real world combat.
Trouble in paradise....
I cant help but wonder at the irony of the Russians invading a country using a blitzkrieg in order to defeat Nazism in that country while acting like Nazis at home by turning their own country into a fascist state in order to defend their people from fascism and protect and unite other Russians in another country and combine them into Russia where they dont want to belong, how unoriginal
It's not that they're 'too f*cking sensitive'. There are regulations about what you can show on TV at certain times of day. Even outside of the watershed, advertisers wouldn't want people switching off due to too many disturbing images, and being viewed by a lot of potentially sensitive people(cynical, but let's face it, the war is probably doing great ratings).
So the result is a very 'bloodless' coverage of war. It's been that way for a long time, as far as I can tell. It's not some new development.
What a f*cking asshole. He disgusts me. He makes Wallace and Daly look like angels
They broadcast swear words just not in a language that the native population understand. A few days ago, there was a clip of Ukrainians protesting against the Russian liberators in a town and there were quite a few expletives in what the crowd were shouting, but because they were speaking Russian it got past the censors.

Well it needs to change.
"10,000 people have died in this conflict, now here's an interview with a man at the border with a van full of clothes"
Are they trying to create paranoia with this info or why would they release such Intel.
It's not a member but if he goes there then it is only a matter of time till he goes to the Baltic.
Hit him while he is extended.
Moralistically, there's an argument to made for showing people the naked horror of war, like if enough people realise how bad war is, maybe we won't do it ever again.
Capitalistically, though....Ka-ching!
If Russia Stops fighting, there will be no War
If Ukraine stops fighting, there will be no Ukraine
This conflict is black and white. There can be no Equivocating the sides in this war
Glory to the Ukraine
Ah, maybe it was staged. I saw a piece of footage the other day where families were getting off a train in poland and getting supplies. The children were getting teddies and a bloke shoved the biggest ones into a few children's hands and ushered them over for a photo op.
That's fair enough it's just how these narratives are made. It wasn't a lie or anything, it was just making sure to present it the best way they could. I saw the Russians handing out supplies to the locals in one of the cities. That's them doing their propaganda and that's their business.
First question with any tweet the invasion is "Who's tweeting it?"
That looks like just a random punter. Would need something stronger than that to be interesting.
Try commuting from the satellite towns at 6.30am @ 120kph 😃😃😃😃😃
Jaysus, last thing we want is those around him with common sense being removed
I'll wait for something concrete on it though
Yes, Ukraine will win. Its a question of time, Russia will gain ground, as is happening at the moment, but that's the easy bit ( for them, and even that is proving much more difficult than they thought or planned for. ) Now holding it.....that's going to be their problem. The real fight back has not even begun yet, the Ukrainians are still at the arming and preparation stage. When a rag tag and bobble decrepit army of sandal wearing Afghans defeated the might of the Russian Army, what do you thing that dedicated and motivated heavily armed Ukrainian Guerilla will be able to do? Militarily, at this stage , it favours the Russians,,,just wait until the balance swings around though. Fixed positions are a god send to highly mobile attacking groups. As Hitler found out when he came in contact with Paddy Mayhew's LRDG ( who later morphed into SAS and SEAL team fighting units) Hitler declared that if they taken prisoner, the normal RED CROSS POW laws did nit apply, and they were to be summerly executed. And that's what the Russian Army will be facing.
Who knows but if they all start turning on each it's good news.
It will go up anyway - all food production costs will rise - there’s a knock on affect all over
Interesting.
Could prompt him to make his move or cause Putin to have a further headache about who he can trust.
Surely the time is now then instead of losing a very able and motivated ally and then taking action. How can you justify not helping on non nato country then helping the next.
The uneasy alliances only last as long as they are mutually beneficial
I hope its true that Putin falls - but in all honesty if we are reading about a probable coup - ON TWITTER!!!!?????
Apparently ineptitude is contagious among Russian officials
In fairness about swear words- it shows aggression and loss of control - not something we need right now- the journalists are only too well aware of what sear words might be used as a result of their broadcasts - and indeed the violence that might take place-I for one, have nearly had to replace my TV on certain broadcasts- were all going through the same experiences you are -it doesn’t need expletives on national TV to get us there believe me
My first impression is that it was a move to push the general to make a move as if his life wasn't it danger before it probably is now. That's assuming it did actually come from US intelligence.
If the sandal wearer's can do that, what can Russia do to another country then? This war will drag on for a long time alright. No winners.
The body language and atmosphere looked tense last week- and that was the choreographed Kremlin version
Possibly stirring it to ramp up the paranoia and division within too
Two Russian streaming services were hacked and began streaming footage of Ukraine for a period of time today.
Vlad may have no option but to shut down the Internet.
Whatever about lack of clarity over facts on the battlegrounds, did anyone hear our MEP Clare Daly on radio this afternoon? Justifying why she and Mick Wallace were 2 of just 13 MEPs who voted against EU condemnation of Russian invasion.
Couldn't have been clearer and should be equally clear that both will be booted far up their backsides and out of their seats come the next election , if we get to one.
Her logic was so warped & twisted, so contradictory to what she was spouting a couple of weeks ago that it was embarrassing. Who do they think they were elected to represent?
Its all about Oil and Gas, Look at the untapped resources in the Donbass region and the Crimea. Russia simply cannot have Ukraine in the Eu or Nato and be a direct competitor with Russia.
