I'm going to respectfully disagree with the first half of this. I don't think Wallace and Daly showed their true colours when they were in the Dail with regards their full throated support of despicable regimes. For many people they were the independents who took on the Gardai over the Maurice McCabe scandal and were targeted as a result. Sure they had some other problematic issues and events in their past but nothing on the scale of what they have said and done since becoming MEPs.
Wallace's wikipedia page has entire sections on his views on Russia and China but tellingly they are under the section outlining his time as an MEP.
The Irish electorate is reasonably moderate and Irish people by and large are very unhappy (to put it mildly) with what they have been saying. They're also aware that other countries are associating them with Ireland first and foremost. That's embarrassing and people do not like that.
I don't believe there is a chance that either of them will be re-elected should they choose to run again in 2024. They'll have a core vote that'll probably approximate to PBP type numbers but that won't be enough to get them over the line. Personally I hope to see them run just so I can enjoy them getting rejected by the electorate.
