Given how the Russian invasion of Ukraine kind of looks like it’s being spearheaded by the management of fawlty towers, I’d be dubious that they are organised enough to start planting Russian agents in Finland.
Pity they are letting them in at all.
9k for over a week of conventional war is nowhere near unbelievable. I've seen estimates for that much in a day of localised fighting for NATO forces in some scenarios. I have no doubt that the Ukrainian figures may be high, but it's also because, frankly, the Russians aren't really doing a good job of taking the fight to the Ukrainians. I think two decades of counterinsurgency have managed to cloud peoples' perspectives on just how lethal a modern war can be.
Here's a bigger version of the photo from Syria.
It's a fair question. Remington makes 7.62x39 and 5.56 for Ukraine's old AK-47s and the special forces M4s, but does not currently make 5.45. Hornady is, I believe, the only US manufacturer to do so. As to recoil, I own an AK-74 (Technically a VEPR, with a heavier receiver) and several 5.56mm rifles. Yes, the felt recoil of the AK seems to be less, but frankly, both are light compared to my FN-FAL and Lee Enfield.
Apparently it was a Polish Piorun, from the smoke trail. Those guys barely had enough time to realise they were dead.
Countries should announce it anyway might tighten the noose on Putin.
Some Russians are fleeing for Finland , personally I be dubious about letting them in .
That’s brill. I’ve just registered.
For anybody that wants to help but not necessarily with housing, use the same link and click “food, clothing, work, paperwork” whatever you think you could do. Took me less than 30 seconds to register.
Don't know if its possible but it would be great if all the assets sized from Russian oligarchs could be used to rebuild Ukraine.
The last time a leader surrounded himself with a harem of women it didn't end in the way he hoped for

Not sure I'd have the neck to be broadcasting the humanitarian crisis in Poland all dolled up to the nines, while people just behind me who have just lost everything are clinging to life after unimaginable trauma.
Airbnb hosts in Ukraine are being flooded with bookings from people all over the world who have no plans to visit. It's part of a creative social media campaign to funnel money to besieged Ukrainians who need financial assistance as Russian forces bombard their country and cut off services.
I mean it's entirely possible that Israel is only there to press Putin on the safety of the Jews in Ukraine; and to ask him not to bomb any more Jewish locations. See this Times of Israel article.
The other story that's of interest to Israel w.r.t Russia is that Russia is using any nuclear deal with Iran as leverage.
I'm not sure I'd be looking to Israel to be an arbiter of peace: they remain to this day the only military who have intentionally destroyed a nuclear reactor. Twice.
Ever heard of holiday homes?
From the 2016 census:
"Vacant holiday homes 61,204.... vacant dwellings 198,358."
I'm thinking it's more a case of don't want them than can't accommodate them.
I'm currently giving it some serious thought myself. Unfortunatly my main shower is out of commission at the moment. I think the wretched government should allow people who do host refugees to claim back all the government charges levied on electricity, heating fuel, petrol and diesel, just as a start.
Ryanair and O'leary - I do think they should should do more and reduce the costs of flights for refugees and separate them from their usual booking price algorithm:
"The family of two Ukrainian refugees have pleaded with Ryanair to not increase their prices after they were forced to shell out over €1,400 for a flight from Poland to Ireland.
Dubliner Jade Dunne, whose eight-month pregnant stepsister Kristina and nephew Artem, 8, fled the war said she had been desperately looking for flights to bring them home to safety.
She told Dublin Live: "It was very difficult with Ryanair because their site crashed on Sunday and then the prices went up for flights to Poland and back.
"A lot of flights were sold out but eventually we got flights booked for my dad and step-mum."
But they were in for a shock when the price of the tickets came to a whopping €1,482.50 for four people.
She said the ticket costs have made it "impossible for people to come" to Ireland."
It's a big step and the war is going terribly for Putin. Yes, meeting ended as it was announced. I think he wants out of this. Think about it this way, if your war is going well and all is okay at the home front, would you be keen to meet foreign dignitaries for ceasefire talks? he's feeling the pressure.
Poster above says this meeting has already happened? Look, I’m all for anything that light leads to a ceasefire. What’s going on is horrendous. I want Putin dead but how realistic is that in the short or medium term.
They were asked by Zelenskeyy to mediate.
What you think and reality, are often different things. Israel has to run any major foreign policy move by Washington. And it's now confirmed on news sources that Washington was notified and approved it.
Including in Ireland - 100,000 people marched in Dublin against it. It's a total myth that it was a popular war.....it was mostly backed by right wingers and militarists.
Israel are either braindead or top level trolls:
Israeli PM meets with Putin
The Israeli Prime Minister, Naftali Bennet, has just met with Russian President Vladimir Putin this afternoon to discuss the invasion of Ukraine.
AFP is reporting that Bennet offered to have Israel mediate talks between Moscow and Kyiv.
A statement from Bennet’s spokesperson said:
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has just concluded a meeting in the Kremlin with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The meeting lasted for about two and a half hours
Tbh I don't think that tail wags that particular dog
It’s a common symptom of cuntitis.
The world needs a independent army, who job it is to maintain world peace. Every country should be required to put money into it. They then would be in the skies in Ukraine, and Putin would have no one to attack over it.
what could possibly go wrong
The protest against the Iraq war in Rome was the largest anti war rally in history, three million people turned up. That's just one of the rallies that took place worldwide.
Russia are being dicks invading Ukraine, and yes the Yanks were being dicks invading Iraq but the protests against the Iraq war were enormous.
You should probably see a doctor about that. Memory loss is no laughing matter.
Why should I trust what you are saying?
The only thing more overdone than the exageration of Russia's military cpabilities is that of China's and their influence over Russia and the idea they posess a single moral fiber or give a sh*t. No chance they could or would lift a pinkie. That nuclear defence treaty they have with Ukraine is less meangful than Trumps recognition of an agreement with Iran and the EU.
You have the pleasure of going to Moscow to host the BIG GAME of whatabout bingo!
👍😂
Why would anyone trust you, a random internet person? I guess you're going to leave people hanging for your exposé! What is not for long BTW? Their win in the war, remaining a pariah or recovering from their economic disaster?
