Ukraine Nuclear Plant: Why Zaporizhzhia Is No Chernobyl - Bloomberg
A Russian shell hit one of the production plants. ZOMg Thynk foR YRSLVS!!!!!!
Well they fired at a nuclear plant but did not hit the nuclear part of it and caused a fire in an ancillary building. This in turn led to footage and speculation about what had happened. Most people would agree that firing at or near a nuclear power in any form is not a good idea so not sure what else what it is you think people will learn from this post.
For a little bit of context
Those SU-34 aircraft cost around $40 Million a piece (as per Forbes) and are some of the most modern aircraft in the Russian Airforce.
That's the tourism trade fecked then. Big hit to the Irish economy.
Taking the mafia's assets bit by bit
Exactly it's not feasible. As for the suggestion that we can house thousands of people in caravan parks. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but Ireland doesn't exactly have a Mediterranean climate and I don't know how you expect people to keep warm in caravans that are barely insulated and only really designed for the summer months.
Putin Russian War is on its knees. He should have pulled back when Germany said it was to remilitarize itself(I wonder if normal Russians are aware of this news - it should make any Russian shudder). No, he instead put the world on nuclear alert.
There seems to be a lack of consistency in statements. How can he threaten nuclear war on a Sunday and then extend the olive branch easing sanctions with the world on Friday. It's like he is playing a video game Very strange.
Going to be very interesting what happens in Kherson tonight. Hopefully all civilians will vacate the area if there is trouble.
Verified losses
Now that's a well thought out and dignified response, thank you for that contribution
Everyone take a drink
Crimea is the one interesting bit of this and Putin may have an argument of sorts for his claim. It ended as part of Ukraine because of a Supreme Soviet decree in 1954, stating that it was more similar to Ukraine. Previous to that its history was largely linked to Russia, but the so-called referendum to return it to Russia might as well have been Soviet organised anyway!
Interesting how the West warning of war was "hysteria" according to the Kremlin, but now that Russian forces are full-on invading Ukraine the response from the West is "hysteria" according to the Kremlin. Moscow never deviates from the playbook.
Guaranteed by who lol!
Anybody have any views on this?? A UN no fly zone policed by Finnish or Australian aircraft. He says in the piece that China and Russia would have to abstain.
Hopefully China starts turning the screw on Russia
This is what will end this. China will insist that Russia stop rocking the economic boat (which has sprung a few leaks going by growth forecasts) for them.
I said earlier in the thread, that Israel could be a contender. They are non NATO and if Vlad is insistent that the Ukrainians are Nazi's, then who better to police it?
I don't remember this level of outrage and media propaganda when the yanks levelled Iraq and killed thousands of civilians based on a lie.
Today was a catastrophe for the russian airforce
Ah I see you're now desperately attempting to add pedantry to incredulity.
I suppose you would argue that multiple reports including those from the IAEA detailing "shelling" of the plant in question or are you still trying to bullshit everyone?
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed the shelling hit the plant but that no radioactive material has been released.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed the shelling hit the plant but that no radioactive material has been released
A building within the plant site was set on fire after being hit by a projectile but was not part of the reactors, according to the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi.
The plant’s second and third units were put into safe “cold mode” and the fourth remained in operation as it was the most distant from the shelling zone, said Kotin. The reactors are “being protected by robust containment structures,” U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said in a statement.
And another drink!
What are you looking for? The serial number on the munitions?
Do you think some one forgot to turn off the chip-pan in the plant?
The DG of the IAEA puts out a statement condemning shelling in the vicinity of the nuclear facility and you start playing twister:
"ooooh I don't know about this MAInStreAm mEDia business, I think I'll have a teaspoon of that, a few scoops of Russian disinformation repurposed from TASS I saw retweeted from bots on Twitter and I'll swallow that for balance."
Would China veto?
Quite possibly, I mean Xi told Putin to hold off the invasion until after the winter Olympics
.
I doubt this is what the photographer was going for, but nice composition with the field and sky mirroring the Ukrainian flag.
Also, how is teotwawki not banned for his BS.
It's not about developing conscience , it's the fact we do not have the ability to take tens of thousands of refugees ,over a short or long term period ..
It's whole new thread
we appear to have a load of Cultured people on this island that would seem on first glance to prove your musings wrong.
I have a house that id happily make available.
I had a prick of a tenant who I eventually got rid of last year. Decided that I wasn’t renting again because of the rules going in one direction only. I’ve a few Airbnb bookings in the summer but that’s it.
I’ve skipped about 1200 new posts and landed at the accommodation conversation. Can you fill me in? Are they asking for people to house refugees?
