Debbie Deegan, she had a charity that did a lot of work helping Russian orphans. They went to great lengths to say she wasn’t an apologist but it all got very defensive.
Hardly an apologist.. A lady who has visited Russia on many occasions who happened to end up sitting beside Putin at an official function recounting her experience.. Perhaps her take on the situation is a bit more nuanced and more interesting than a reporter in a hotel room in poland who's never been inside Russias borders
That’s fair enough comment, I’m sure did great work, however, and this is just my opinion, purely personal, comes across as a bit ‘gobby’ for my taste.

Slightly OT: I listened on through to This Week where Clare Daly just destroyed Justin McCarthy. It was a pre-recorded interview and was so bad that I'm surprised they played it as-is. Justin was incapable of responding to any of her points, he just sequentially moved on to the next question on the script. It was like she was talking to a call centre junior associate. Has brightened up my Sunday!
