Ukraine will give you arms, off with you if you're that eager to show Russia who's boss.
the third option is a Russian civil war.
Days ago, i would have believed this possibility to be utter nonsense, i would have posted as much here.
But in all honesty if they are about to
a Russian Civil war, in my view, has moved from 'Unthinkable, Near Impossible' - to a 'possible'
we arent there yet, but it is possible.
This thread is about the Ukraine/Russia war.
You seem to be making countless efforts to derail, engage in whataboutery, all that
This doesn't help your case at all, I've broken bread with Russian Chechen war veterans (more accurately too many shots of vodka) before.
I'm not sure how you'll handle this post to be honest. We all don't sit around in our jocks in a student dopehole with no clue of the world.
You could have posted a little white flag instead of typing that.
Forget nuclear weapons and its a big assumption thinking Putin wouldn't use one. It is still the whole western world going to war with Russia and maybe even China. All for the Ukraine? Nah
He advocated it earlier in the thread.
War hysteria is on the march.
Checnyans didn't invade anyone though? They started a war for self determination.
Would you spend time with a Russian, who illegally occupied another country, killed innocent people?
A poll shows a majority of Swedes favour joining NATO now (just over 50%), majority of Finns in favour also
No way I'm taking point.
And that's where the UN is failing once again so far. No one country should have a veto, that's a very big weakness.
In this situation it's up to the UN to get it's **** together, agree on a majority verdict that will sanction a UN peace enforcing intervention. Ideally with all the other major players contributing.
Absolutely appropriate to discuss inconsistencies in people’s perspectives between this war and others if that’s what a poster wants to do. Others should feel free to not engage if that conversation doesn’t interest them.
Basic stuff.
I believe you.
He's being very cute not to incriminate himself. "oh, I expect to see Russian embassies set on fire this weekend...not that IIIIIII condone that kinda thing....."
Obviously no way to know for sure, but as I said more likely that Ukrainians aren't doing it. Whereas more likely militant groups are. So in that regard, we would imagine that the inevitable claims by Russians of "Nazis" or enemy combatants within apartment blocs surrounded by civilians, are mostly bullshit.
Do we have to waste so much time on it though when it's entirely based on one of two assumptions: a) people here advocated or still advocate for unjustifiable use of western military b) we're all tainted with collective responsibility for unpopular or unjust military actions.
It's like some people just got their hands on 'Relativism for Dummies' on here.
I'm heading off here now broski....off to enjoy my evening. Plan to get a dirty, greasy takeaway and watch some series. I'll be back later.
Enjoy the thread!
👌
Neocon? I've been called many things due to my stances before, but neocon is a first 😂
George Galloway called, he wants his trilby hat back by the way.
I think the environmentalists would be my favourite. Going around picking up shrapnel to recycle, while the rest of us hold back the Russian onslaught.
Actually the mods have warned whataboutery means a threadban. And proper order.
How many are there Nostradamus?
Thank f*ck for that. You're welcome to take a little holiday from the thread btw. Take all the time you need.
I don't recall hearing about the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) before.
They weren't wrong when they said anyone would be able to buy and sell ya were they.
Totally agree, except it belongs in a thread called something like, "Are we hypocritical about war?" where you and other posters interested in discussing this could philosophise and equivocate to your hearts' content, not in a thread called, "Russia", where we are currently discussing Russia's actions in Ukraine.
Give Aoife our regards!🤣
Russian rouble 122 against the dollar now. Russian savings evaporating by the day, and life getting more expensive for the average Russian
I think this is probably the only way that Putin can be halted long term, no matter what happens militarily in Ukraine.
Apparently (pinch of salt) the Russians just had a friendly fire engagement in a suburb of Kyiv and lost multiple vehicles.
