We also found them very good, better than tesla by more than 10% and better than other 7 quotes by more than 5%. Is tied to Joe Duffy.
Very straightforward, get quote online (I think needs photos), arrange an inspection and do haggle a little (we got an extra couple % doing this), come back within 5 days (thats how long quote is) and sign the docs, money in account following day worst case.
If you got a wave from another white M3 yesterday, it may well have been be! On the Live Camera, have you enabled the option in the car? I believe it's under the Autopilot settings.
Bank transfer
just use your RN number
they give you the details in your account on the site.
I don't seem to have the bank details
Think I only noticed 1 lady driving a white one yesterday, but with the traffic levels on ringroad and roadworks wasn't paying a huge amount of attention. I try to wave at every EV ☺️
Yes, sentry enabled.
You need to log into your account on the Tesla site.
Click on the payments tab.
Then use your RN Number as the reference. Send €1 first. Once you see that hit the account then send larger sums.
Great excitement here, wife got call to pick up this afternoon. Any watch outs for us?
General checks.
Check each panel for damage or scuffs.
Check interior for loose trim. The same as any other new car.
Check charge level.
How far do you have to travel home?
Nice! Congrats!
Wow exciting! Did you just get a call today? What spec are you getting?
Enjoy, it's a simple but pleasant experience. Agree with the above comments, I would add bring a drying towel. Makes examining the car much easier and more thorough. The car is only brought into tent immediately before your slot and the wax on car holds a lot of moisture, though by afternoon may well be dried off by the sun.
Yup, watched couple videos (handles, gaskets etc). Driving back to Clare...
Looooong story. Looked at getting one few weeks ago, ordered one and hey presto one turned up from UK this week for pick up next week, this wouldn't work (I'm away) so she hassled them and got tomorrow pick up and out of blue call today to pick up today. Tow hitch didn't really want but sure...
Silver (grey in my eyes)
Congrats. Charge before Birdhill. If not Ionity then Mayfield J14 15 -25% top up would give you piece of mind.
will be fun, 2 of us in seperate electric cars trying to get charger space on a Fri afternoon on the Dublin to Limerick motorway (won't have time to charge mine on the way up)...
How long before collection do people usually get their reg number? I presume taxing and insuring at short notice is easily done?
Typically around a week beforehand. A batch of texts tend to go out on Friday evenings for collections the following Friday.
Took me about 10 mins to do motor tax on line, insurance perhaps 15 mins because I had to call them. The certs will come in the post a few days later, but no problem driving a new car if certs in the post..
Reg came a few days before delivery. Use the chat if necessary.
Probably not a typical case as only got informed of pickup for 4pm today at 10am this morning.
Have licence plate number (looks like couple hours turnaround) and insurance sorted (once got off hold (took an hour) only took a few minutes)
Motor Tax not recognizing licence plate and pin (last 6 digits of VIN) yet though, probably takes a few days for their system to catch up
OK thanks @AndyBoBandy and @eagerv .
@higster I presume in that instance, a grace period applies for the motor tax?
Dunno about any official grace period, but all I'll say had a 2nd hand car that couldn't get taxed for about 3 weeks, rightly or wrongly I drove it in this timeframe (did obviously pay the tax due for same time frame when could). Was stopped once and told the garda that had just bought it and tax was in the post (had the sales cert in the car), was let go but that could be me and my culchie accent getting the benefit of the doubt. I wouldn't park it on the street mind...
Saying all that if in the normal process you'll have plenty of time I would think.
do tesla ask for proof of insurance?
I seen it in the app recently for a M3 order but how can you upload insurance docs before hand?
I asked them about this the other day and they said providing the proof beforehand wouldn't be necessary.
Thanks @higster
No, they never asked me at any stage. They said the bit on the account relates to US customers.
Thanks guys. If I trading the Model S in then insurance will be on that until collection so no way to upload any document as such.
could be me and my culchie accent getting the benefit of the doubt.
Them boggers look out for each other. I was done one time many years ago for driving without tax and had just bought the car the day before. Note I have always taxed my car and as I said I had just bought the car the day before. I know I was in the wrong but still like you I know many people who got away with it over the years.
Not sure about others but I paid on Monday, got license number today Friday (supposedly it was issued lastnight), and I'm collecting on Sunday. Pretty tight. Was able to tax and insure today Friday luckily. I think if I had paid earlier I might have got the reg earlier though so 'bold me'
GoSafe Vans....
I paid when it told me that payment was required on the account. I assume an invoice will be forthcoming on delivery.
Seems as though another week closes without any communication from Tesla about M3 deliveries. If the March delivery schedule (last two weeks) is to be met, it seems like a mad dash to finish line. I know I am not alone and anxiety rises,...I remain hopeful
Thanks @vincentohanlon , I only finished paying on Thursday so it might be another few days yet.
