How would the wind change?
but they will still get their juicy MEP pensions. It seems all wrong
Yes they are covering it on American channels it is all over CNN and MSNBC that I saw. I was watching it earlier. As for don't panic no I am not but it certainly is a legitimate concern when Russia starts firing anywhere near any nuclear power plant never mind the biggest one in Europe.
Well putrid did say that he would retaliate in ways that nobody would have expected in terms of severity if anybody interfered, well chernoblelizing this nuclear power station would fit.
All of a sudden I'm thinking of those "doomsday preppers" you see in documentaries in a whole new light☹️
Moldova
You were doing alright until you said this is not a serious attack and the Russians know what they are doing, then the wheels fell off.
Look, you've less than 500 posts, and in case you haven't noticed, this thread is hostile ground for stupidity. People are getting away with f*ckall in here and rightly so. Don't even bother soft peddling the shelling of a nuclear power plant. You won't last long here.
if I were a Ukrainian , I would not accept any sign I see or comment made without first having it independently verified. . The Russians are capable of anything eg wearing Ukrainian army uniforms , considering putting the Russian street protesters into the frontline with a gun - which is very very very very different to the Ukrainians alegedly using children as shields!!!!!!!, etc, etc
If the Russian army started f*cking with the Jewish population?
Oh lordy, where would I start. Russia seriously doesn't want Israel putting it's shoulder to the wheel in favour of Ukraine.
An intelligence agency that are the masters of dirty tricks, and a large Russian speaking population to infiltrate and act as sabatuers. If Israel gets its toes trod on, it has all the means and will to seriously screw with the Russian war effort.

Sorry, was trying to post this:
The economic cost is something we'll all have to bear.
The real insanity of this war is the dredging of Europe's ancient hatreds back to the surface. Even if Ukraine is lost to Russia, which I don't accept it is, the next crisis is just around the corner.
Russia, and by which I mean the Putin regime and not the people of Russia, needs to be stopped.
Wouldn't count on it.
19 million males in Ukraine.let's say 9 million are fighting age. That's a big resistance to the Russian army.
Russia really changed under Vladislav Zurkov, the grey cardinal, a master of theatre he would fund liberal groups and skinheads alike. No one then knows what to think. Apparently he’s been primarily involved in Donbas and Ukraine since he left his post as personal advisor to Putin.
A Ukrainian hacker group, CyberHunta, in 2016 released a trove of Zurkov’s emails showing how he was trying to destabilise Ukraine. It included a 22-page outline of "a plan to support nationalist and separatist politicians and to encourage early parliamentary elections in Ukraine, all with the aim of undermining the government in Kiev”. Of course the Kremlin said this was fake.
Honestly think the time for talking is long over. Zelensky will achieve nothing talking to Putin same as macron unless they can physically get close enough to take him out. Better off getting Pamela Anderson he has a soft spot for her. Russian words are worthless. He is a strange man the way he can only ‘connect’ with certain people. The only thing that should be pointed out to Putin is that Nukes are pointed at a few hundred cities ( list the names of the cities and what order they will be destroyed) and other sites across Russia and will gladly turn his shithole country to dust if that’s the route he chooses to go down.
Russia wants Ukraine, it’s hardly going to destroy important infrastructure so that it occupies a shell of a country. Unless they’re losing badly and go scorched earth, but that’s not the case now.
If Putins willing to push the nuclear button then he's willing to push it. I think NATO need to roll the dice and call his bluff.
No fly zone over Ukraine and start amassing 10s of 1000s of boots on Ukraines border ready to go in as a "peace keeping" mission.
This needs to end now or its WWIII anyway.
russia have taken power plant - russians logic apparently is that ukranians are now "embittered" and may do anything including blowing up their own nuclear power plant so russian "peace keepers" had to come to rescue once again.....
Nice try.
Russia has no problem razing the whole of Ukraine to the ground, Russia has always operated a scorched earth policy when they go in anywhere militarily , hospitals , schools, shops, markets , food storage facilities , power stations, ports it's all fair game ,when Russia wants a population to bow before putin, chemical weapons are next
Ireland - 250 hopes and prayers. And 2 tons of solidarity.
We sent a lot of humanitarian supplies and are taking in lots of refugees. That's not nothing. And that's just at the government level. People are donating to the red cross and all sorts of other organizations in a private capacity. Just saying.
A few quotes from this article that resonate with me:
Putin is using Ukraine as a warning. He is making an example of it for a reason. You don’t make examples of a nation or use it as a warning if you don’t plan to go further. This point should be clearly understood. He is trying to teach the world — and the rest of the former Soviet Union, and Europe in particular — this is what happens if you resist. Total war. Civilian death on a mass scale. It’s better for you to submit.
Putin is warning us that nothing matters to him. Nothing. Not innocent lives on our side. Not lives on his side. Not his economy, not his oligarchs, not their fortunes, not public opinion. Nothing. The only thing that matters to him is his goal.
Kasparov has been consistent with his message for a long time, so many people wouldn’t listen. I see the Russian players at the Grand Prix that’s on now are playing without flags the majority have condemned Putin, all but one who was actually born in Ukraine. What Sergey Karjakin has said is shameful. I bet that guy will never again have the respect of his peers for the rest of his life.

That makes no sense, Russia would then have to pay to rebuild everything. I don’t believe they’ll deliberately destroy ports and power stations when their objective is occupation.
Spot on. Pretending you don't know in 2022 is not acceptable. They can claim that toppling putin is extremely difficult but they cannot claim they are not aware of the atrocities he has carried out and is carrying out.
I wouldn't put anything past Putin. This really feels like something else, putin is looking for a reaction. It feels like he wants the west to retaliate.
Not a lot about this makes sense. So let's leave that word out of the conversation.
Id agree that they won't deliberately destroy infrastructure that they can take without destroying. But if they can't take it, plan B is to destroy it.
They're also launching rockets indiscriminately. They could in theory blow up anything as collateral damage. This is one rocket away from complete armageddon.
