He (Larry S.) may well have said "Pull it" on the day, but we'll never know because there's no recording (that I'm aware of) where he categorically stated it. what is being discussed, again, is the CTists jumping on someone mixing up their words or not being clear.
The oft-repeated claim is that he said "pull it" meaning 'pull the building down'. The only recording ever used as evidence of this is taken from a documentary where he is CLEARLY taking about the events of that day some time after the day itself. Given the context, it is easy to see that he was talking about pulling it (the FDNY) from the building. It's not rocket science.

In the recording I posted via the YT link he does no such thing. He says he got a call from the FDNY who weren't certain they could contain the fire. His next sentence is ambiguous....."maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it". It's impossible to tell if he is remembering the Fire Dept or if he's recalling he said it himself. In fact, you can't even categorically claim that it was said at all from those few words, which have been deliberately misconstrued for 20 years since.
