Isn’t that what people are doing in here? “Putin is bad”, that’s all that can be discussed, everything else is vigorously branded “deflection” or a defence of him or an endorsement of his invasion? People dong seem interested at all in asking vigorously hard questions on how it’s come to this?!
I think Putin is bad , a tyrant and possibly insane at this stage. I’ve no issue with him being compared to hitler even if videos of more informed people (john j mearsheimer and andrei Illarionov) who know him better, think otherwise.
But Taking a step back now I can see how crazy it’s all getting. Why didn’t the crimea war matter to us? What’s changed that makes the invasion of Ukraine and worse then what Putin has been doing to his neighbours? Some might say because it’s an existential threat to us now that he’s fully invaded, but why was invading Crimea not the same sort of threat? Why didn’t the world react back then?
It’s all wrong, everything Putin has been doing has been aggressive , corrupt and tyrannical. I expected the usual EU response of just doing fk all because that’s what they always do. What has changed to make such a dramatic shift in policy and sentiment. 2 weeks ago talk of nuclear war and world war was unthinkable, but so was the kind of sanctions and actions of EU counties taking a borderline war footing stance. Where has this come from?
I’m not afraid to ask because I don’t think I know it all or that my opinions/sentimentsare formed with all the facts . Is there somebody who can actually explain why things have escalated this time and why the allies have chosen this war to draw a line in the sand ? Or maybe even provide a credible link or source? How have we gone from “Russia might invade Ukraine” to potentially “let’s go to war”….
Very much so. We are starting to block a lot of their assets, we're talking hundreds of billions so far.
Ukrainian news saying civilian death toll is now 2,000 😓

Yeah in a corrupt and compromised political system designed to support Russian puppets. And now ultimately they've been invaded for daring to get rid of the Kremlin's man in Kyiv
Can the West take money from Putin and the Oligarchs off them which is held in Western banks to help towards the cost of reconstructing Ukraine when this is all over?
As has always been the case in war through the ages. It's not nice but it is reality.
But your belief that they should just surrender and accept not only Russian rule but also the inevitable huge purge after they surrender?
Jesus Christ, Man.
??? They literally had a Russian puppet in power up to 2014.
Indeed, does look like Russian armoured column
You can hit a mad dog and get bitten. The dog is still mad and wrong, doesn't mean the person who got bitten didn't help themselves.
That’s just you. Vast majority of people aren’t as spineless and easily sold out. Could imagine someone like spying for the B&Ts though
If accurate it also shows Transnistria as part of the plan.

Sorry but this is stupid. Europe isn't trying to "piss off" Putin. We've experienced this stuff before in our history and it's deadly serious. We have an aggressive nuclear armed Russia invading a European country, and if they succeed it would put them up against the borders of Poland, Slovakia, Hungary - all of which have a history with the Soviet empire, an empire which an aggressive autocrat is clearly trying to rebuild (and rewrite history)
As for Ukraine having plenty of ethnic Russians, yes it does, are they welcoming Russian forces?
There are several videos of people walking up to and around the wreckage. It is not from last night though, the wreckage in the video was a convoy that got destroyed on February 27th. One of the videos shows some of the vehicles in the convoy are marked with a V which means it was part of a Chechen unit.

There’s something deeply sickening and smug about a post like this
Facts are facts.
I'd rather have to leave Ireland and start fresh somewhere with my family than die and have your woman and children in another country anyways.
Survive to fight another day at best, 'live' not really.
But, there's a difference between a pro Russian government (who, incidentally, are ready to fight the Russians) and a puppet government. Try using democracy against a puppet Russian government. You'll find you'll get as far as, 'What do we want, and when do we w...' before you find your arms behing your back and up by your collar bone, and you'll be lucky to see the light of day ever again.
TL/DR you're clueless
Ah so it’s the big evil EUs fault today.
Well, they're leaving a lot of women and children behind. They might be willing to die but the women and children will suffer as a result.
Some staggering wealth inequality in Russia, when you consider Gorbachev always dreamed of a Swedish like social democratic state and how it turned out.
It's essentially the geopolitical version of a bully at school that picks on someone over the years then eventually starts a fight with them and realises that they've had enough of their **** and they'll go down swinging if need be. All they have to do is look across the border at Belrus and see how it's citizens are treated, worse than Russians and the Russians are treated like **** as it is. They'd rather fight for the possibility of avoiding that fate than accepting it.
Yes Mike, and they consider death preferable to life under Putin.
Would like to see other angles to see if characteristic markings are there, other destroyed vehicles still had some semblance of white painted shapes visible. Unlikely that every trace of it blew off
LOL.
Yeah but this initial invasion, the Russians will win. Long term it won't last, but they'll win the battle.
Cities are getting levelled now. There's an air of inevitability I think.
I hope Russians like the stone age though, cause that's where they're heading for the foreseeable future. Totally isolated. Worse than North Korea.
What gave it away? Was it the fact that I said "If I was a Ukrainian?"
Clever boy!
Yeah, must just be an underwater volcano LOL
