Its quite interesting how the same users appear equally gullible to misinformation irrespective of the topic
It’s actually a very good watch. (“Why the Ukraine is the wests fault)
Ive been watching different scholars speak about Russia and getting greater insight into what’s going on when I admittedly had and still have a limited understanding.
Indeed I posted one myself here with notes (linked above).
Heres also Russel Brand (never thought I’d ever be a fan of his) giving a very good explanation of why “Putin bad, west good” is really a very skewered take with propaganda wars on both sides:
Now I know some people will jump to “but What Putin is doing us evil and bad”. Where have I disputed that? Where is it disputed in anything I have posted or linked?
Wibbs was i believe alluding to it in a somewhat dismissive way but it’s true. Raw emotion on thread (that I have equally been absorbed in at times) has meant very little reflection and consideration to how we have gotten to this point.
Putin is a dictator, he has bad intentions and is doing atrocities against poor innocent people. I personally find it catarthic insulting Putin , calling him insane and thinking of him as just the worst.
If you’d dont try to understand the dictator and how we have ended up where we have gotten you do not learn anything. Branding him evil (even if he is) does not explain everything and in many regards ignores those in the west who were happy to turn a blind eye when it suited them (in some cases because they were benefiting from Putins reign).
Correct. And also - who is the absolute master of provocation? Putin himself
I did see one very insightful comment about Putin's mindset that I thought was succinct and acute:
He who only seeks to provoke, only sees provocation
After Boeing has suspended services to Russian airlines, Airbus has followed suit. Every day that passes Russia is growing increasingly isolated from the world.
This has the potential to fracture NATO and defeat the purpose of it.
Did you mean to post this two weeks ago? 🤨
NATO and the EU are more united than since the fall of the USSR at this point.
Thank God someone is speaking the truth.
I have been trying to tell anyone that will listen that the Russians are armed only with Nerf.
Wake up sheeple!!!
America is in many ways evil
UK is in many ways evil
China is in many ways evil
Russia is still in the wrong here in this specific instance
We can only play what's in front of us
There seems to be very little talk of the Ukrainian Airforce the last fews days. Surely a handful of fighter jets or attack heli's could do some serious damage to a sitting duck like that??
Has their airpower been hammered??
A lot of Brits think that Ireland is a part of the UK.
There's a coffee table book idea - from the publisher of Soviet Bus Stops, comes Trashed Russian Tanks. All proceeds go towards Ukrainian refugee relief.
That is big. They have stopped all maintenance and parts being sent too Aeroflot wont be able to operate after a few months. Other airlines will be hesitant to send planes there, knowing maintenance will be restricted and if there are any problems, the plane will be stuck there.
so so smug aren’t ya.
Jesus christ. Russel Brand is a crank, he also made buckets of money parroting anti-Covid nonsense during the pandemic. He is a stupid person's idea of a smart person.
It's the lack of imagination and artistic flair that I find upsetting.
Have they no pride in their work?
As they say in Russia - "Чем меньше знаешь, тем лучше."
Right?
If you don’t know what he said you aren’t in a position to comment.
So are you only able to listen or engage people who agree with you on everything?
Incidentally I didn’t agree with his stance on covid , but then again, I try to be balanced when coming to a conclusion and can actually amend my mind on somebody when I believe they make sense.
But you offer up the ramblings of an ex heroine addict who lost his shít a long time ago.

"X is bad, but we are just as bad" - this is the false equivalence whataboutery endlessly trotted out to defend China/Putin/whatever
Russia is invading Ukraine, it's text book 1939 stuff, so naturally the usual internet edgelords are doing their damnedest to spin any other narrative on it. Years ago I wrote that Russia/China could black/white invade a European country in a war of aggression and cranks would defend it. Here we are.
MIA. Paper planes
She had more records than the KGB
Unsurprising announcement. Also helps them with that honest broker approach.
China won’t join the United States and European governments in imposing financial sanctions on Russia, the country’s bank regulator has announced.
Nearly being overlooked that the cities being bombed in the south and east are Russian speaking and have Russian majorities. Apparently, people in those cities are absolutely livid at Putin and don't see him as any sort of "liberator"....all they see is the Russian speaking cities being hit with cruise missiles and artillery fire daily.
In the event of full-blown hostilities between the West and Russia then undersea cables indeed will be cut/sabotaged by all parties, satellites will be shot down, etc. Cutting communication cables was the first thing the Brits did in WWII, mere hours after declaring war on Germany.
However it is very unlikely that things will get to that point. We are more likely to see limited cyber attacks aimed at causing economic damage to those aiding Ukraine - temporary disruptions to communications, power stations, logistics etc. This is realistic scenario in the near future. Even if we are not direct targets we will experience disruption or knock-on effects. These attacks will be limited in scope and more akin to vandalism because Russia most certainly don't want unconstrained cyber war. Unconstrained global cyberwar is not far off nuclear war in terms of undesirability, most people have no clue.
What the Russians were doing off the coast was making the pretense to map cables in a very visible way. The chosen location of their exercise was 100% related to underseas cables. Even if they moved their excercises, the point was made.
If water for Crimea was a major factor surely it would be more sensible to build desalination plants or a pipeline across the Kerch Strait between Krasnodar Krai and Crimea.
There are reasons and then there are 'excuses'.
Oh yeah. You're right.
Ah, so somebody who has done drugs in the past can’t be informed. Got it.
Russell Brand? Ah jaysus Drummer!
We can't standby and let this happen just because Russia have threatened the use of nukes. If we do then Russia will know they can invade who they want and just threaten nukes when NATO or the EU try to intervene by putting troops in. Next will be Poland and the Baltic countries.
We need to act now with air strikes at least.
The current sanctions should be left in place for at least 3 years also. Destroy the Russians. Let them know that if they are going to inflict war crimes on people then they can't partake in the worlds economy.
Take the gloves off now.
I am in a position to label him a crank, I've watched many of his videos, they spew up all over conspiracy sites, that should give you a clue.
Are you posting from last week? Germany did a 180 a few days ago.
"How the Zionists depict Hitler as a cruel man."
Attack the post not the poster.
In this case I will make an exception, it took me 1 reply to expose you as scum.
