There seems to be very little talk of the Ukrainian Airforce the last fews days. Surely a handful of fighter jets or attack heli's could do some serious damage to a sitting duck like that??
Has their airpower been hammered??
America is in many ways evil
UK is in many ways evil
China is in many ways evil
Russia is still in the wrong here in this specific instance
We can only play what's in front of us
Thank God someone is speaking the truth.
I have been trying to tell anyone that will listen that the Russians are armed only with Nerf.
Wake up sheeple!!!
This has the potential to fracture NATO and defeat the purpose of it.
Did you mean to post this two weeks ago? 🤨
NATO and the EU are more united than since the fall of the USSR at this point.
After Boeing has suspended services to Russian airlines, Airbus has followed suit. Every day that passes Russia is growing increasingly isolated from the world.
Correct. And also - who is the absolute master of provocation? Putin himself
I did see one very insightful comment about Putin's mindset that I thought was succinct and acute:
He who only seeks to provoke, only sees provocation
It’s actually a very good watch. (“Why the Ukraine is the wests fault)
Ive been watching different scholars speak about Russia and getting greater insight into what’s going on when I admittedly had and still have a limited understanding.
Indeed I posted one myself here with notes (linked above).
Heres also Russel Brand (never thought I’d ever be a fan of his) giving a very good explanation of why “Putin bad, west good” is really a very skewered take with propaganda wars on both sides:
Now I know some people will jump to “but What Putin is doing us evil and bad”. Where have I disputed that? Where is it disputed in anything I have posted or linked?
Wibbs was i believe alluding to it in a somewhat dismissive way but it’s true. Raw emotion on thread (that I have equally been absorbed in at times) has meant very little reflection and consideration to how we have gotten to this point.
Putin is a dictator, he has bad intentions and is doing atrocities against poor innocent people. I personally find it catarthic insulting Putin , calling him insane and thinking of him as just the worst.
If you’d dont try to understand the dictator and how we have ended up where we have gotten you do not learn anything. Branding him evil (even if he is) does not explain everything and in many regards ignores those in the west who were happy to turn a blind eye when it suited them (in some cases because they were benefiting from Putins reign).
Its quite interesting how the same users appear equally gullible to misinformation irrespective of the topic
Not for this thread really but Green Party policies in Ireland are so ridiculously basic. They literally involve taxing people as much as possible. I'm with you on that, never again will they get a vote from me unless they seriously overhaul their outlook.
It is apparent Russians are different to us. Their genetical brains can't handle democracy. One mistake the west makes is trying to enforce democracy rather than excepting some people can't handle it and are probably better of with a dictator like Russians have.
A boundary down east Europe to be drawn with Russia Belarus and parts of Ukraine to the east and the rest of Europe to the west. Everyone stays to their side of boundary and no trade or travel between either. Back to the cold War of 1980's. We leave you alone you leave us alone.
"These kinds of news" not familiar with group nouns? Sound a little like "these mouses" or "this mice"
I can't believe.
I can't believe what? At a minimum a sentence requires a Verb subject and object.
The problem comrade is you have been subject to a lifetime of no news and you are therefore ill equipped to deal with it when confronted by it, in both linguistic and comprehension aspects.
Yes it's likely an exaggeration, and the figures inflated for morale purposes. However we do know that Russia has sustained significant military losses in these opening days of the campaign, much of which is getting bogged down.
Thought as much. Putin is an out and out c*nt.
Wallace and Daly really showing their colours.
Agree, you could see Austin was not fully tuned in some of the time and had a look of fear sometimes; Himself, Stuart Ramsey and Deborah Haynes and all their behind the scenes crew in Kiev are very brave people.
Poisoned with nerve agent, then imprisoned by Russia for breaking parole because he was in hospital recovering from the poisoning
It's what they are reporting, largely based on what they say they have destroyed. Whatever the real total the Russians have lost quite a few troops in this, probably a good deal more than they did in Syria.
Yes, but in the eyes of Putin, it's "historically" part of the Soviet Russian empire, so it needs to be a vassal state (like Belarus)
Obviously the Ukrainians don't agree with that, so they are being invaded because they are Nazi's and drug-dealers
Unlikely that they were watched by the poster especially as you highlight about Nord Stream 2. Cut and paste under their handlers instruction.
That's nearly two hours of video. Do you want to do a synopsis or point to key parts of these? The last two are redundant BTW as Nordstream 2 is dead and they are helping.
I can't believe, in this modern world also there are so many foolish people to believe these kinds of news.
I wonder if this is the end of the beginning of Trumps re-election bid in 2024? Pre this illegal invasion Russia and Putin were more a sideline issue over there and the average American probably wasn’t that interested in trumps Russian links or at the least could park or overlook them?

I think the broadcast tower being blown up may have knocked them out.
I generally sensed fear from Austin and the female reporter over the last few days. That's no judgement from me, they are brave people. Who wouldn't be fearful. Mark Austin has seen a lot of war over the years. This one seems different.
Biden- putin doesnt know whats coming towards him!
It is a bit like NI. It's and independent country and if the Irish troops went over the border, we'd be in the wrong. It's probably a lot more analogous to ROI and if the UK decided ROI is part of the UK and they sent their troops to invade.
But Russians have differing opinions on whether Ukraine is part of Russia or independent.
There appears to be a lot of Russians unwilling to fight. Therefore, I suspect that the convoy is not stuck, and that the soldiers have basically put down their weapons. The airforce is also awol, and reports of elements of the navy not following orders. Add to that, he has gone to his safe space to hide. It looks like he is losing control of his military.
The Russian opposition!
I'm sure I'm missing the nuances here, but as a sovereign nation, isn't the Ukraine completely within its rights to pursue NATO and EU membership?
Zelenskiy wasn't elected in 2014. It was a toss up between two pro-EU candidates, one of whom won with a landslide.
It would be silly not to take it into account. Have you any idea of the types of Data that goes through the cables. It would have been very easy for the Russians to leave one or two devices on or around the trenches, to be detonated if needed. They have already practiced and planned it. In 2014, two TU-95's were found to be following the paths of two Russian subs off the West Coast. The paths they took were exactly along the lines of the cables. Put simply they were mapping them.
Also, the area of operations for the Russian Naval exercises were on the exact spot where the cables meet the continental shelf. At the time, UK naval analysts pointed out that this area of the seabed is also an area used by subs from both East and West as it acts as a natural "doorway" into West European waters for littoral operations.
