Like all social media - people here are generally savvy enough and have enough independent POV information to be able to take SM content with a heavy dose of salt in contrast to the content of state run media in Russia or similar

IMHO to say Zelenskyy is impressive is an understatement - his brave stance, standing on the streets, refusal to budge an inch. And refusal to leave as so many other leaders would under these circumstances - very impressive - 'I dont need a ride, i need ammunition' - very impressive - I would go as far as to say he is the spearhead of the Ukraine's PR WAR - which they are most certainly winning - and this is what has captured the hearts, minds, money, and now military hardware of Europe and the west - Bravo - Slava Ukraini

All the command of the Russian army are well experienced in urban combat, and the Soviet Union only survived in WW2 because of breaking the Germans on an urban back.

Russians also have the internet. This isn't the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany. The info is out there for people who want to to find out. Seems most Russians are more worried about roubles and their luxury goods than what their military is doing abroad. With some very honorable exceptions.

A girl I know from St.Petersburg just posted a pic on Instagram of the Guardian article about Gergiev and the ultimatum he was given about denouncing Putin. The pic was followed with a roll eyes emoji. She's a legend but I think a picture like this shows that these sanctions and move by the west may have unintended consequences and push more Russians into Putin's hold. I don't know any Russians in Ireland and tbh I don't think they'd be as good a gauge of Russian mood as people you meet who live there but you met while travelling, studying etc.
I haven't being following this thread or even news of this conflict but I did see one or two videos of Russian planes dropping bombs from really low. Is that not a way to be shot out of the sky. I remember America in Iraq or Afghanistan(forget which) dropping bombs from high up in the sky so as to be not shot out of the sky.

Russians do but like as has happened with communications in the Soviet Union, content can and is controlled. But most importantly "most Russian" are certainly not well off with an 'excess of roubles' or 'luxury goods'
