Ah yes, loot before you blow it up. Smart.
she watched your man's video 🥱
This might have been posted earlier, but just to confirm. It seemed a bit of a strange idea anyway
Daily Fail....
Sounds like you're the one getting emotional Wibbs.
Ok so lets sacrifice the Ukraine for couple more years before the NovoFuhrer eyes up another country and does the same to them. What then rinse repeat until its gets to a country that people either care about or one that has nukes of its own?
This needs to be faced down and hope that those around Putin realise that they have to act.
No chance.
At most the Ukranians will have a peace that accepts Russian troops in Luhansk and accepts the loss of Crimea.
If the Russians get 'stuck' there then Putin is over. The Russians won't accept it.
'Are people like Diane Abbott, Richard Boyd Barrett, Jeremy Corbyn etc, really naive, really stupid, or actively bad?'
I think they're a little robotic in repeating decades-old political formulas, they hear the word 'NATO' and a tape starts playing an inner monologue in their brain and their mouth starts moving.
Of course they are also Trotskyists which makes them 'bad' to me but that's not the kind of badness that most people object to ordinarily.
It doesn't matter that much really.
Even if Corbyn had been PM the policy would probably be the same as Johnson's - lot of shouting and 'getting tough', covert help, US-led sanctions and no direct intervention.
The pressure for every single person and institution to make a condemnation of Putin and Russia is a bit silly. If I start a lemonade stand and its a non-aligned lemonade stand is someone going to come and smash it up?
GOP governors, including Greg Abbott of Texas, are ordering retailers to remove all Russian products, including vodka, from the shelves. That's the kind of tough action that boardsies can get behind!
These aren't my opinions, these are the stories the Russians tells themselves to able themselves the heroes.
The resistance to the existence of a narrative where Russians are the hero, and adherence to the narrative in which were the hero, shows the power of propaganda. The truth of their stories or our stories aren't really important. It's just Important to know what the stories are.
Russian death and destruction is better than American death and destruction.
Tell you what, you should find a way to contact some of the Ukrainians in bunkers and cheer them up by telling them it could have been worse.
Don't see any issue with people advocating the boycott of Russian goods. Even if it's a small thing, they all add up.
I was once visiting relatives in China in a city called Gong'An (near Wuhan) when the air raid sirens went off. Sweet jebus it was soo loud and scary i nearly had an accidant. It was only when i noticed that the locals didnt seem so bothered that i realised the Americans wern't bombing them! Can only imagine the utter terror when its the real thing:-(
But the Americans aren’t invading Ukraine, Putin is, so I’ve no idea what your point is?
Neither Russia nor the West should pursue absolute victory. Russia may be able to conquer Ukraine, but it cannot conquer the West. On the other side, the West must not forget that Russia is a nuclear power. This is strategic wisdom.
It's possible to hate the Americans and think that the Russians are in the wrong and support unequivocally Ukraine's right to self defense.
Interesting observations from one of the BBC's correspondents, from the heartland (we don't hear much about)
"Our exit from Kyiv to Moldova yesterday took around nine hours. The journey took us across about 250 miles of central Ukraine.
It’s still winter, so it’s barren now, but in every town and village we came across signs of a new industry: civil defence.
Russian forces have so far paid little attention to the rural heart of the country, especially towards the west.
In every community, no matter how large or small, signs of preparation were everywhere.
Makeshift roadblocks of sandbags, concrete blocks and tractor tyres across the entry to villages. Small bands of volunteers, wrapped up against the biting wind, checking cars, training binoculars along the roads, filling sandbags.
Village after village, the same scene. No sign of armour. Just men with AK-47s and the odd hunting rifle.
While the world looks on in horror at events in Kyiv and Kharkiv, we got the overwhelming impression of an entire nation, bracing itself for the coming conflict, utterly determined to resist the invaders."
He who pays the piper calls the tune
At least 10 Irish people have travelled over to fight in Ukraine
I think he's saying that Russians are more careful killers and that the Americans would have been worse killers. I'm note sure the Ukrainian victims care which country's flag they're being killed under.
You post this tripe repeatedly here after begin refuted time and time again - Russia will not invade any EU or NATO member because of nuclear deterrence.
Genuinely, where do you think the "NovoFuhrer" will eye up next?
Aughinish is owned by an Oligarch too. Should we seize it or close it?
Fair enough. Why not start a 'I hate Americans' thread. This thread is about a bullying USSR wannabe country attacking a democratic country that doesn't want anything to do with them. Can you stay focused?
Ireland's useful idiots / MEP's who voted against Ukraine. Hopefully the electorate votes them out in future democratic elections.

They've left a couple of buildings standing....the Americans wouldn't have! /s
I see the whataboutery has returned to the thread....
Slow learner is our Ming. Recreational cannabis probably not the best for cognition.
They missed. Stations went off then came back again.
It's also possible to dwell on the hereand now, thousands will be killed in Ukraine by putin and his forces in the next few days can you grasp that? Or do you want to continue with your whataboutery nonsense!
