ICC looking for approval to investigate war crimes
That video earlier pretty much seals that
Make that a thousand euros, and its a deal.
Have to say I'm getting more and more pissed off with the Russian population. Are they ALL brainwashed? Watching images of clearly civilian areas being bombed and children dying en route to hospital. It's sickening because this "war" is totally unjustified. Where are the large Russian protests? Are they that badly downtrodden that the don't have the guts to protest in large numbers? Or is there a majority that actually support Putin? A disgrace of a nation.....
MIG 29s? Really? I am surprised any NATO countries still had any operational. I saw one in a Museum in Prague.
Yes they are brainwashed, their elections are not a true representation because their electorate is not properly informed. There have been protests I saw in Moscow from some that can get access to proper information. I wouldn’t blame their population but the murderous dictator in charge.
They’re a disgusting shower of bastards. Exclude them from everything -send them back to the Stone Age
They seem to be very adept at controlling the narrative so I'd imagine they are quite cocky about controlling what information the ordinary people get, insofar that they give a sh1t about the ordinary people.
It's actually still being produced. It may be old, but it's not much older of a design than the F-16 and with proper maintenance, these things can still be a potent weapon. What's more, they're designed to work from austere environments, which is what you want in a situation like in Ukraine. Hell, that thing can take off from grass or gravel runways if needed!
What Ukraine is getting.
Bulgaria (MiG-29) - 16 units
Bulgaria (Su-25) - 14 units
Poland (MiG-29) - 28 units
Slovakia (MiG-29) - 12 units
They are not seeing what we are seeing. The younger generation have more clue but when you govt controls the media and dictate the story it is difficult for the populace to have a view outside what they are being fed. Btw it was reported i think on friday that they were going to censor social media due to propaganda from the west.
Gardai hassling protesters outside the embassy on Orwell Road.
WTF are they doing there anyway. People have a right to protest.
I'm afraid this " they don't know what's happening " really doesn't wash. There are millions of Russians living in the west who presumably contact home on a regular basis. Either way at this stage I don't give a **** what Russians know I want their military to stop killing Ukrainians.
I knew they were still in service in Russia and Ukraine but surprised until just now that NATO countries still had some in service. I knew the Czechs got rid of theirs about 10 15 years ago.
The Gardai could easily be dispersed in this situation by a tactical deployment of impudent 12 year olds from Darndale.
it is illegal to protest. You are putting your life opportunities at risk if you have that on your record.
a lot of public protests historically originate from universities. I don’t know what’s the story exactly with Moscow and st Petersburg universities. I presume it’s all rich kids, the rich in Russia are vulgar assholes for the most part as far as I know.
If armaments from places like Poland continue to make a significant difference to Ukraine's chances in this war, Putin's going to go on TV about how Russia is essentially fighting a proxy war with NATO and he's going to start delivering some rather pointed ultimatums about it.
Absolutely- there’s plenty of them that support despot Putin and Lap up his fake “strong man” act. I’ve no time for them as a people, they’re hard uncivilised self centred shower of savages.
I don’t want them living here. Or elsewhere in Europe. That being contingent solely if must on their political beliefs and connections (fully verified). It’s obvious they’re are plenty of Putin tentacles allover the continent, spreading their poison while abusing our hard earned freedoms and economic opportunities. Time to get rid of them
Oddly enough during the Georgian war there was a large amount of bombs dropped failed to detonate and a bigger amount missed intended targets
Was there any update from the "peace" talks today?
Younger Russians especially are savvy, educated people. They know.
Russia has been in an almost constant state of war since the end of the USSR. Overwhelmingly by their own choice. The below list doesn't include undeclared interventions in places like Lybia, Mali and other locations conducted by Kremlin-connected mercenaries but with clear Russian state foreign policy goals.
They didn't lick this off the ground and the Russian public is probably numb to war and the state's involvement in various places.
A list:
Georgia / Abkahzia: 1991-1993
Moldova / Transnistria: 1992
Tajikistan: 1992 - 1997
North Ossetia (internal): 1992
Chechnya I (internal): 1994-1997
Dagestan (internal):1999
Chechnya II (internal): 1999-2009
Georgia: 2008
Chechnya / Dagestan / General Caususes insurgency (internal): 2009-2017
Ukraine Donbas: 2014 - present
Syria: 2015- present
Central African Republic: 2018 - present
Ukraine: 2022 -present
First I'd say that all Russians don't have access to unapproved media....secondly, for the last 20+ years, Putin has ruthlessly suppressed any protests, even pretty big ones, like after he won ( stole ) elections. So yes, they are pretty downtrodden. And even if the majority of Russians hate Putin and what he is doing to them and Russia, they feel powerless to do anything. When he has form for killing his opponents, that's a powerful argument against protesting. But maybe now it will be different....and the protests will reach critical mass. For sure though, if the majority of Russians knew what was really happening in Ukraine, it would not only reach critical mass, it would go nuclear.
That was not a contrarian opinion by any stretch. It was the official finding by the UN. It was well known that the weapons of mass-destruction stuff was just a pretext. I remember at the time that the US had been amassing 300,000 troops on the border for months beforehand. Just like the Russians this time, it was obvious that they were going to invade and were just hoping for some pretext before it happened.
I’ve no time for them as a people, they’re hard uncivilised self centred shower of savages.
"I've no time for them as a people"!
Are you proud of that comment?
You would rightly be threadbanned for a statement like that referring to most other nationalities.
During Putin’s time journalists writing negatively about him risked being imprisoned, poisoned, meeting a violent ‘accident’, disappearing entirely or politically motivated investigations. This has led to a self censorship within their media. It’s a very dangerous thing.
Absolutely- and I stand over it. Why do you think they’re lovely or something? Is that what bothers you today? Russia and their supposed “feelings”? They repulse me to the pit of my stomach. “Most other nations” don’t go in invading sovereign nations and murdering their people. I put that before any alleged anti National feeling- but im old fashioned like that.
Can ban me away I don’t care. It’s all Putin defenders know I suppose.
Mr.Putin is testing the strength of the corporate cancel culture, corporations may just be powerful enough to cancel Russia and this was not the case in 1939
In this case it's country cancel culture. Early signs it's a feckin effective tool.
