I tried to buy shares in SBERBANK as an ADR earlier , Saxo not allowing the purchase of any russian securities ( not to private investors anyway )
He must be trying to achieve new highest score on word count.
Doesn't really matter if its all lies.....
Reeks of desperation in my opinion!
Not really. He's not doing a great job of taking over Ukraine and is in a pretty terrible position to keep it. The attack seems to have been designed to "decapitate" the govt and install a pro-Russian one. Its not that rational to think that would have worked for any long period of time.
This Russian ambassador to the UN is doing some projection job.
Okay, someone in France has to stop Macron trying to peace-broker with Putin, he's terrible at it
This UN representative is spouting so much fiction. Sticking to the Nazi-ism from Ukraine spiel. An absolute laughing stock. Zelenskiy is Jewish ffs.
It is unbelievable to watch live in 2022 when everyone watching can debunk it in a matter of milliseconds with a quick Google search.
The great, brave, macho leader....
Let’s call a spade, a spade. Putin doesn’t really want to negotiate or compromise. Putin wants his way and only his way
The translator is doing a stand up job, getting it all out without a shred of incredulity in her voice too.
Schroeder's links to Gazprom began immediately the moment he left office in 2005 - making his previous Chancellorship look a little tainted in retrospect (ie it looks like he took a deniable bribe)
It's for a domestic Russian audience, and to keep himself from being thrown out of a window.
There are neo-nazi elements in the Ukrainian regime and armed forces.
For example the Azov Battalion is a unit of the Ukrainian national guard comprised mostly of neo-nazis. The founder was a member of the Ukrainian government until 2019 and his stated goal was to "lead the white races of the world in a final crusade".
Immediately after the USA-backed coup in 2014, the CIA began training and arming paramilitary groups (including neo-nazis) for insurgency against Russia.

Hes not trying to make peace hes the only western leader left that Putin will chat to without huge pressure, Macron is being used to figure out what state his mind is in.
That was an excellent video.
Also if what he says is true, unless an agreement on neutrality in Ukraine can be had, this is not going to end well for anybody and could actually have far reaching affects on Europe's relationship with US if China start flexing muscles. To hear him say Europe has been relegated to third as a strategically important area for the US is surprising.
Toppled? He won a landslide 73% in a fair and free election.
I had a quick look thru the Google translated live feed there. While there is no criticism of Putin, the feed doesn't paint a picture of all being rosy in the garden either. I guess there is no hiding the sanctions from the population.
Ah, before we all put away our imaginary epidemiology and take out our imaginary military intervention degrees, let's admit we don't really have a clue about military interventions.
Bit from what I can gather, the Russians are winning in Ukraine and were making a big song and dance about how they're not winning as quickly as they expected. We all admire the Ukrainian defence, but nobody is seriously expecting them to defeat the Russians.
So I'm assuming the Russians will take over Ukraine in a longer timetable than they expected. Holding it will be a nightmare but so is holding anywhere nightmare. Afghanistan is a good recent example for both russia and The West. But they presumably expected that when they invade.
I disagree with putin's motivation but I'm not seeing signs of a madman.
My prediction is that there will soon be many thousands of Ukrainian troops who have high quality weapons, speak excellent French, English, etc, but next to no Ukrainian or Russian.
The more images of dead civillians Putrid causes to figure on the world's media outlets, the sooner this happens.
I think he's bluffing, and Russia has a history of uniforms of convenience so obviously recogise the legitimacy of the ruse.
They don't need to join NATO. They are covered under the EU mutual aid clause of the Lisbon treaty.
I'm getting old and forgetful, yes that's true, I remember reading an article on this.
I could well be wrong, but those ridiculous mile long tables have always struck me as a bit of an antiquated, misguided attempt at showing status more than anything else.
Optically it's almost comical though either way, when contrasted against Zelenskyy over the last week or so.
He looks a bit like Charlie Flanagan but without Charlies reverand Monsignor like tone
Zelenskyy signed a document for Ukraine to join EU (not sure if true)
Take it with a pinch of salt but the UA ministry of defense said there are several thousand foreigners signed up to fight. There were busloads of Georgians last pics I saw. Also a group of 10 ex special forces guys from UK/Poland I think. This is becoming a new proxy war between Russia and the West.
Is there a link?
It's all for show. That don't meet the criteria for EU membership. It's for morale and to rile Putin.
My impression is theres a hell of a lot of professional Soldiers heading towards Ukraine since last week. The French Foreign Legion said any Ukrainian members are allowed go. Its a proxy war but also in a weird way its becoming a war theme park for these unaligned soldiers.
So the Russian representative ended with "Russia wants to end this war"
The war it started 5 days ago? Their narrative is so twisted it's incredible.
If they got in fairly quick it'd surely cause some unrest among countries who've applied years ago and still not in like Turkey etc
I agree, though at least someone is trying to de-escalate this insanity.
