As soon as is practically possible. At the moment it would be practically impossible to admit Ukraine. It has massive problems with the rule of law and corruption.
The most the EU will say is that it is on the path to membership.
So what would you call someone saying 'it's all over, Russia's equivalent of the marines have landed at Odessa and are rapidly pushing north'? Which was posted a few pages back by a new reg. Odessa hasn't been taken, by the way.
Strange adds…
From the trivial of getting kicked out of Eurovision or soccer matches not being played up to the more serious of international sanctions and condemnation, this is certainly the kind of "cancel" culture we can all approve of.
Hopefully the Russians in the street can equate the change in their everyday lives with the invasion of Ukraine and discern that none of the above would be happening only for a botoxed garden gnome going stir crazy.
Those three would be totally unacceptable to the West. The last one means 'no' to Ukraine joining the EU and NATO - I think that horse has already bolted.
Ukraine couldn't join the EU overnight, even if both sides wanted it. It would take a minimum of two or three years at least (but I'd imagine the Ukrainians would be happy with such a timeline).
Empire of lies - from someone who multiple times assured the whole world he wasn't planning to invade. The people at the far end of that table probably are wondering WTF? as much as anyone who's been paying attention to the last several weeks.
Speaking of the table, he really is scared out of his tiny wits someone might stick a knife in him - or cough - if they get close enough.
The second one means toppling the current Ukrainian government as well basically. They are the "nazis" Putin despises.
That must have hurt you. Maybe it's about human lives rather than resources? I live in hope...
The Russian UN Ambassador is still sticking to the script anyway on Sky News.
Falling over one another now to condemn the dictation. Sickening bunch. And I’m right leaning. But despise the Russian regime and their pals.
I was wondering why the usaf planes had dropped off the radar. I assume transmitters are turned off at this stage.
Saw them regularly in the black sea
These talks are a Russian trap in order to go full Syria in the war.
Putin only wants to portray Ukraine as "unwilling to negotiate".
Of course you don't negotiate your country away in the face of Putin's Hitler style demands.
I came on here to joke whether anyone would be interested in taking advantage with a carry trade, I didn't expect that there might already be people suggesting it half seriously 😮
Well, yes. If his goal is to take over Ukraine and expand russia a bit, then he's going about it pretty rationally.
I wouldn't want to take over Ukraine so I don't agree with his decisions but I don't buy the notion that he's a madman.
Why do people think he's mad?
I also don't think it's good enough and a bit of a cop out tbh to hear that " oh the ordinary Russians don’t know what's going on". Moscow and the larger cities are as modern and cosmopolitan as you will find anywhere. Also there are millions of Russian living in the west who surely phone home once in a while.
Irish independent: EXCLUSIVE Hundreds of Irish-owned planes to be ordered back from Russia in days
Aircraft lessors to take unprecedented step to recover tens of billions worth of aircraft within days as part of ratcheting up of EU sanctions
Irish leasing companies are expected to be terminate all leasing deals with Russian aircraft in the coming days as the next phase of sanctions ratchets up pressure on the Kremlin after its invasion of Ukraine, according to senior aviation sources.
Most commercial aircraft in Russia are leased, so if the requests are honoured the move has the potential to massively disrupt travel in and out of Russia as well as internally.
this will be unprecedented and really wake up ordinary russians if correct....
Bald and Bankrupt posted another video - this time of him and his mate Johnny trying to get the hell out of Kyiv on the 25th of February.
Russian UN representative at the UN now going on a rewriting history spiel, they are absolutely obsessed with spinning this incredible yarn. I don't think they grasp that outside of Russia this doesn't work.
Yea, any treatment of Russia under Putin will be long the lines of North Korea from now on. That’s the way it’s going to be.
Okay I would call that poster a propagandist.
But posters are throwing around insults against anyone (like me and Wibbs and Pussyhands) who says anything they perceive as off-message.
Posters just asking how a partly Russian-controlled country can be admitted to the EU get called 'anti-Western' 'Putinbots'...? Its mental
Last week some of these posters wanted the Canadian Armed Forces to shoot protestors. Now they're like "You're clearly in the pay of Lavrov" Like wth? Straight off one emotional crisis-frenzy merry-go-round and jumping onto another one without missing a beat.
He's spouting pure whataboutery.
Where are we going to put them all?
It will be interesting to see if the airlines comply or if they will go fully rogue.
Shocking rubbish alright
The word "enough" doesn't exist for some people. They tend to be the ones that already have the most.
I have to say I missed this:
"German ex-leader Schroeder nominated as director at Gazprom
Russian state-owned gas company Gazprom says German ex-Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has been nominated to join its board of directors
ByThe Associated Press, 4 February 2022, 15:56"
I guess that's off then? I have absolutely no sympathy.
He's all over the place with this speech alright.
These forums have been stuffed with Putinbots and sympathisers for years, spewing all their pro-Putin, anti-Western stuff. There's obvious blow-back from that given the current crisis.
I'd say he's a better actor than the President of Ukraine, being able to say all that with a straight face.
