Kind of should put focus back on what were they actually doing out in the Atlantic when the fishermen ran them.
There would be underwater cables between Continent and US out there. The fact they went so easy is suspicious in itself.
Hopefully they have been inspected.
The western world is coming down hard on Russia, Some sanction for Belarus but much harder action needs to be taken on them.
They facilitated this invasion and should suffer now for being on the wrong side of history.
Sure lookit.. innocence is bliss.
I dont think they sabotaged those cables. If they physically broke them or damaged them we'd know by now. They certainly couldnt hack internet traffic like that.
George Galloway is uniquely eloquent, his speech to that Congress committee years ago was a master class in Rhetoric.
Unfortunately he is a sociopath level of narcissist who says anything for a buck and recognition.
I think he has United the West as never before and paradoxically it is the first time in my life that I have wished death on someone, putin, and hopefully I won't have to wait long for my wish to come true.
Hadn't realised that his generals were this far away during his lunatic announcement earlier.
Hopefully this also acts as a metaphor for how distant they are becoming to him in real life.
And what on Earth is that contraption on the table to the left? Something you'd find on Thunderbirds in the 1970s.
I say they have gotten tons of real time images etc for America etc so I say there doing really well. I just think tonight Russia has to go all out and do as much damage to the Ukrainians before the meeting tomorrow. They need something to show to the delegation not just high losses.
These reports seem to give credence to those that were saying Russia weren't exactly throwing everything at Ukraine to begin with.
I think because he was in Poland. Love bald check out johnnyd too
Putin needs to have a land bridge to Crimea as the place has no water.
One of the worst scenarios that was put forward up to the last week was him invading and taking Eastern Ukraine.
But that changed with him going after the North and West.
Now whether his aim is to put a puppet in Kyiv and then redraw borders in East or to totally keep Ukraine is a big question.
It is one thing to conquer somewhere with superior military but it is quite another thing to keep it, well without going medieval on the natives.
Putin seems to very frustrated with the resistance his troops are getting from the brave people in Ukraine, its a worry he will send in everything he has and bomb them back to the stone age.
Hundreds of vehicles travelling country/rural roads - scary stuff - not something a few Ukrainian grannies will stop that’s for sure and an incredibly difficult thing to ambush given it’s length - you’d nearly need jet fighters and carpet bombs to deal with that -
Russian airplanes are now banned from Irish airspace, we just need to acquire the radar to figure out where they are if they turn off their transponders
Its the same scenario whenever he meets anyone, he's paranoid about being close to people. Any luck one of his yes men cops on and chucks some novichok in his tea and does us all a favour. Its never ceases to amaze me how one person can control so much and influence so many people. Russia has a population of 144 million people and this pipsqueak has every single one of them in the grip of fear for 2 decades. Its appalling.
It's a widely known principle in Russian military planning that you only carry out an attack when you have significant numerical superiority. It's part of the plan to build up your forces. If they are going into a city they want a 5 to 1 advantage. Putin should remember Stalingrad.
Kyiv won't be falling tonight, not for a good few days at least. They will surround it and cut the supply lines.
Mariupol is the big one tonight and tomorrow. It is near completely surrounded and isolated from the rest of the country. This will be the first big battle and will indicate how the war will go.
If they dig in and make it hell for the Russians, it would send the message out to the rest. If they surrender early doors, it will indicate if Ukrainians really do believe in fighting until the death.
You dont know if you are fighting until the death until death comes to your face.
The Russians cannot afford the $15 billion is costs to run their operations per day. And now that their economy is tanking, they are fucked
That would typically be commercial flights so they don't get passed over to the flight controllers, not much anyone can do against military planes, they go where they want (the RAF will scramble and escort them sometimes).
EU announcing they're willing to accept up to 3-years' worth of Ukrainian refugees.
That said, if there's a nuclear exchange anytime soon, it won't matter at that stage.

...EDIT: verified as not true...
Kyiv is falling tonight or tomorrow according to the BBC. Russian shock and awe incoming. Putin is desperate, citizens are just inconveniences in the way now. Hope the Ukrainian president is well hidden. This is about to get very bloody :-(
Thats grand for trained ukranian soldiers. Its their job. Every man woman and child civilian should be running for cover. Lets be honest. If Putin gets impatient he could send in another 50 thousand troops with a phone call.
Boris is loving this. When was the last time anyone mentioned the lockdown parties?
Hardly relevant or appropriate now, is it?
Watching Putin today telling his Generals to get the Nuclear weapons ready and they nodding - Putin seems to have surrounded himself with Yes people - Its a bit like the Control room in Chernobyl all over again when the Technicians were afraid of the Boss leading to the Nuclear factory Blowing up ☹️
Just saw the photo on Sky News of the huge Russian ground troops going in. The only thing that can save the Ukrainians is a bullet in the head of that ctnu. Scum of the earth
