Not good if true
It is alarming but it would be all over for Russia very fast, if he did.
Negotiations should be interesting. Ukraine will need to throw Russia some bone so they can save face. Probably some guarantee that they won’t join NATO. Truth is though, if Ukraine survives this, it will be armed to the teeth with NATO weaponry going forward and Russia will not be able to even contemplate an invasion again for maybe decades.
Well Putin certainly waited till Biden was back again. He had a free run in 2014 and presumed he would once again with Wall Street Joe.
In fairness to him Biden has done well.
It's from 2018
More horse **** from anti EU and anti Ireland experts.
It's so. Incredibly terribly transparent.
Ireland decides its own airspace.
Nonsense.
Chernobyl first, now a nuclear strike is likely, Ukraine is cursed
I think the clue might be in the "IC" part of the ICBM acronym. I don't think he'd really be needing to drive it there if he wanted to deploy it.
If he was worried that the West would shoot it down over Russia, then they would more likely have the chance to do that when it was moving on the road
To what end? Russia would do exactly the same to Irish citizens there
Plenty here in the west fell for the same auld nonsense of the strong macho leader. Including plenty of posters here. Trump was elected on a similar mindset.
I hope people now really see how stupid they were to fall for that spiel.
Please fact check what you post and dont leave it to others. It's post like this that lead to "full time mum to 4 angles xxx" on Facebook posting shíte like "omg Putin is goin 2 nuke ukrane".
That video is more than 2 years old.
Not everyone; I'm planning an invasion liberation, so speak for yourself. ;-)
any ideas fora possible fair peace deal to solve this current impasse .. one that can possibly save face for all.. and avoid dire escalation...
currently think and probably way off...
-ukraine cedes crimea (hard to see them getting it back)
-either autonomous status for donbass area or either russia integrates pre-war border area only with repatriation of russians/ukrainians to either side
- russia to withdraw and pay compensation for war todate
- russia to publicly accept ukraine to join eu/nato if they wish with certain stipulations around that
- russia to commit to entirely new approach to dealings with west and ukraine going forward - a new way forward politically/economically if you like
-belarus will also have to somehow be included havent got that far yet perhaps a commitment for new elections in 3 year time - immunity for current leader once he goes....
just a few i know controversial thoughts to get the ball rolling but have to start somewhere - also keepiny our own peace process in mind everyone had to get and give up something...
No we decided it and called for it as an EU wide move
The expelling of diplomats has more power if done in tandem
There wasn't any formal request for a referendum on independence in E Ukraine as far as I am aware. There has always been a Russian-centric population in the East, but the whole affair was highly suspicious, the "separatists" were suddenly very well armed and organised, many suspect it was a Russian operation taking advantage of the chaos of the Ukrainian protests.
Why would you need to move an "inter continental ballistic missile" closer to the possible target?
The clue is in the name.
No point moving ICBM's to Ukraine, they can be launched from anywhere in Russia with the range they have. Plus that video looks old.
Fantastic to see us aligned so well with our EU partners. Long may it continue.
Last time I checked support here for EU membership was at ~95% so I guess that's tough ****?
There is a video somewhere of Biden inviting a car worker to step outside over some comments! A man who remembers what the USSR were about is ideal because Putin is looking to go back there.
Nonsense and this is a narrative being spouted in certain republican circles in America. Given Trump called Putin's incursion into Ukraine 'a genius move' only the other day, I'd bet Trump would stand idly by and watch Putin nuke half of europe. Trump is a coward and even the mention of war makes him uneasy, just look at his own draft dodging history as proof. Biden's presence in the whitehouse has very little to do with Putin's motivation. Ultimately unless Putin sends a nuclear warhead towards America, the yanks wont be directly involved. Their nukes however which are based in NATO countries in europe may very well be used but Id say if anything France , UK or germany would activate their own nukes first.
Likely?
The nuclear threat is exactly that, a threat. The same as it has been used for decades. It works on fear. And unfortunately it will probably work for Russia now. Sky is already showing maps with little explosion emojis in the USA and Europe.
Well, judging by reports, the Russians have been having some embarrassing fuel supply issues lately...
Joyce was a Yank!!
....buried in Galway though ☺️
Putin being abandoned? Putin humiliated as troops down weapons in massive collapse of Russian morale (msn.com)
The European Union has announced that it intends to begin shipping arms to Ukraine, the first time in its history it has taken such a step.
Why would you need to move inter continental missiles to Ukraine?
Yep my spelling was slightly incorrect but I don’t recognise the made up name for it.
An idle threat.
That’s not good….
