I'd guess some of them have money they are worried about losing. Otherwise the hesitation makes no sense. 'Read the room' as someone said. We know FF have had business dealings in Russia in the past. Sean Quinn etc. Not a stretch to think connected money men or their friends in power do too.

The age of the article shows how long FF/FG are happy allowing Putin funnel money through Ireland. Still currently doing so. They talk big but don't like to hassle the money.
It's about the anonymous online government bots trying to link Putin's invasion of Ukraine to SF. Turns out the Greens also voted against sanctions at the time, but as the man said they're friends of FF/FG right now.

I've seen a few people asking this question. The EU foreign ministers are trying to take a united position on this and have for now decided not to expell ambassadors. Fluid situation so could change at any time. I thought it was well reported but perhaps not. Ireland obviously not going to randomly go against this united position.

Governments across Europe have decided stuff on their own..Germany sending lethal weapons, several countries closing airspace etc. EU dithering again and if you criticise them you are pro-Putin apparently.
The minute Russia put boots on the ground these diplomats should have been sent to the airport.

I think whats even more damaging to FG is that it's 'leading lights' have fallen spectacularly from grace in recent months. Both Coveney and McEntee have been found out. They don't have too many TDs left that are untarnished.

There's a few worried about their Russian investments I'd imagine. We should see who is actually overly cosy with Russia.
Don't forget FF's Conor Lenihan. He moved to Moscow.
I won't be holding my breath that our main media will be looking too closely at it all.

Its a true comment. When we get a UI they'll be wearing aran jerseys and singing Wolfe tones. Still no sign of them expelling Russian diplomats and not a peep about the Russian money we help funnel.

They are using this war like Maggie used the Falklands, to try to save themselves.
What should the government do in your opinion? It would be great to get some detailed plans from alternative views leaving aside something that happened nearly 40 years ago.
