You're 2 days too late with this nonsense
You are thinking of products you traditionally associate with Russia however you would be surprised what popular brands and stores Russian billionaires own, many in Ireland.
A Russian guy in Moscow was talking to Sky News earlier, he was laying flowers at the site of an opposition person who was shot in 2015.
He was surrounded by Russian cops but came straight out and condemned what was happening in Ukraine and also said Putin was behind the murder of the guy who was murdered back in 2015.
Balls of steel right there.
Nukes?
If Ukraine comes out of this intact, immediate entry into the EU and a Marshall Plan-type package to get them up and running. We walked into a polling booth to access the EU, they have to fight fascism to do so.
Includes nukes. Sabre rattling.
They are just lashing out this is falling apart from them so fast
Er...that's what I meant.
From Reuters.
He also apparently has ordered military command to put nuclear deterrence forces on high alert after aggressive statements by NATO countries. Such bad people to say such unkind things.
Is there anywhere we can see a list of those?
I'd be interested in links and lists, if you'd be so kind?
368,000 people may have fled Ukraine, but many are returning to it - to fight.
22,000 people have crossed into Ukraine since the war began on Thursday, according to Polish Border Control.
One of the biggest consequences of the last few days as I see it will be a huge push towards a European army. I think it will become a reality in the next five years.
I also think it will strengthen Europe (EU). Ultimately possibly the biggest miscalculation on Russias part that it could have made.
You would have to wonder what Russia hope to gain with Peace talks. They have just invaded a country and so are basically looking for a partial surrender. Also, Zelenskyy would be crazy to go in person, one thing the Russians have proved to be good at is sprinkling radioactive substances on adversaries.
Considering the news about Chechens (the real ones, not Kadyrow troops) and Crimean Tatars that are trying to get into Urania from Poland Putin might have to think soon about defending Crimea. They said it's the war with Russia is the blessing from god because now they can try to get their land back. The Crimean Tatars are indigenous community of Crimea. Worth checking: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimean_Tatars
I would be on for helping manage a list of those that would help hurt the russian billionaires supporting putin
Russia supplies titanium and other industrial raw materials.
raw materials can be sourced elsewhere in quantity over time but not straight away.
There is enough in plane graveyards to get by for a while but only more modern planes would have it in quantity.
Sky are showing live footage from St Petersburg of riot police dragging away peaceful protestors. Lots of press about so hopefully Russian people get to see this
I really hope the the procedures are designed that way that no single man can decide on the launch. Polish TV is analysing that order to put the deterrent forces in combat mode and the comments are that nukes are a dead hand weapons, but Putin seems to be ready to start 3 WW.
Putin going in to adolf bunker paranoia mode - nuclear deterrent forces moved to high alert status.
Apparently making sandbags to block the Russians in Zelensky's home town. Sure what else would you be doing on a Sunday?!
Yeah and mostly women are being dragged away. There was a group of people standing in a line and the police left a tall man alone and dragged away four women. Fierce brave lads altogether.
They have also announced that they have stood up their nuclear deterrent status. Probably a blackmail tactic for the talks. Again do they actually have a working nuclear arsenal? They can't even afford a stock of non-nuclear precision munitions?
Now do one for Moscow to Hell. That would be a straight line, I'd think?
In response to foreign sanctions apparently. So the message is don't push them to far.
I asked the question in the thread before : When do sanctions become attacks in and of themselves in the minds of the target?
I do think the west has to be careful here not to corner them.
There is no sense in bringing down Putin because there is no successor and no idea what or who would come next.
Russian Police are beating grannies & kicking them live on Sky News as they protest in Moscow.
This is the signal for a coup or things may get 'interesting'. We're not far off Cuban missile crises level.
I hope to christ this is just more sabre rattling from the little dwarf.
I do think this is naive (edit: immediate EU membership idea, not idea of more aid or support). If Ukraine survives, they will be in no state to join the EU as a full member for a while and unfortunately I think the EU is also not ready to admit more members right now.
IMO it (the EU) is very overdue for reform, a long time since the last treaty now and the world has been changing alot. More is being expected of it by citizens and by member states (your post is maybe another example of that as you believe fast track EU membership will be some silver bullet for Ukraine if it survives this - see also expectations of the EU during last few years of Covid-19 to come up with policies and solve problems in areas where it has no competency).
If this does not happen and it just admits more members who want "in" anyway, it could suffer a few bad fates, like becoming an impotent UN type talking shop in face of a future crisis because it can't decide what to do due to competeing interests of members, or else rupturing/splitting apart for same reason.
That won't be good for anyone IMO (current members or those who wish to join).
You won't get reliable information. There is propaganda on both sides. From Ukraine's side it's absolutely sure they are putting up a good fight, but the figures will always be inflated for morale. Russia is not even acknowledging troops deaths, so zero info there.
