Tbh I think it's a strategy by the Ukrainians to get word into the Russian population that the "peacekeeping" mission isn't transpiring in the way the Russian media are presenting. Also Russians and Ukrainians share a lot with each other and there are close family ties between a lot of them.
However if the NovoFuhrer goes down the total war route then anyone captured from the Russian forces will be in a very precarious position.
It's not about luxury - it;s about telling the truth, so average Russian deep inland knows that there is the siege of Kiev. It's hard to imagine for internet savvy people in the free world, but if all you have are the official TV channels suddenly the world is a different place. Those phone calls are supposed to change that information blockade.
I think they just meant a land corrider from Russia to Crimea i.e being able to drive a car from Russia to there
All the talk about NATO encroaching on Russia being a trigger for Russian military action is BS. Russia under Putin was always going to try to bring all Non NATO former soviet countries back into mother Russia and be at NATO's borders. Be idiotic to think otherwise.
Good article here from a few years ago about Russia's incredibly poor performance against tiny Georgia and the persisting problems in their armed forces.
While some improvements have been made, seems pretty much identical to the problems being encountered now. Especially the focus on the air force.

Every little bit helps..
As long as Putin has the military (which at the moment could be on shaky ground) then he has power. We've seen many autocrats annihilate their own economies, drive their countries into conflict and survive perfectly intact.
Tesco revoked his club card as well
This is what Putin looked like in 2010, before/after mass Botox.
One can only imagine how degraded he would have looked today if not for the Botox (and how malfunctioned his innards are presumed to be).
We may start to see minor bank runs in Russia tomorrow. The Central bk is talking it up, but that's just show, they are under considerable strain.
You already can do that, though? There's a bridge from mainland Russia to Crimea. Isn't it over that very bridge that Russian tanks rolled in 2014?
I mean, yeah, it would be handier to have other avenues to Crimea as well, but I don't see how it's worth waging a war over it.
Shannon is closed to them.
They can't fly westward.
Links with Cuba are broken.
That is why I wondered if the poster was mixing up Kaliningrad
I'd say you're underestimating it there with "minor"
They will probably bring in some form of capital controls
Maybe he's discovered some sercet power source that's artificially preserving his 'youth'
It is worth doing as a symbolic gesture. The whole world should condemn this vicious war in every way possible.
Hopefully the shock at the invasion doesn’t start to fade away and the world starts to move on to a different story and the pressure on Putin eases.
Kharkiv battle a resounding Ukrainian victory, Russian forces retreated, lots of armour abandoned.
Source?
There will be 2 trains per day entering Ukraine with humanitarian aid and taking back refugees. First train came back to Poland today.
Interesting how this will play out.
If Russia starts to pull its forces out of Ukraine will the Ukrainian military try and retake Crimea, Donbass region etc. back from Russia and liberate all their land while Russia is weak.
If more supplies keep pouring from West Ukraine from Europe and abroad would Putin I wonder use some sort of nuclear device to destroy some place over there that is a staging post for arms etc. and warn the west in regards to arms etc. been sent in he is willing to use them even more on Ukraine and abroad. I say that would get the international community to stop supplying arms etc. then as they would be afraid after he used a nuclear device already he would then, that's the only way I can see arms etc. stop coming into Ukraine. Otherwise there just going to keep pouring into Ukraine from the west and add pain heaped upon pain on the Russian military.
That's not botox, it's papier mache painted flesh colour 🤐
Fair balls to the train driver
I just searched Kharkiv on twitter, hundreds of sources.
This Ukrainian MP is sick of Russian politician's nonsense:
That's a big worry of mine, as well. I have to think Putin or one of his advisors is scheming a way to create huge diversion in the West right now.
You're speaking about Putin casually using nuclear weapons, as if he's in a vacuum - by himself, without any other consideration.
But in reality, behind the scenes as we speak, at the highest level discussions are ongoing between all sides. Including with China and others.
The Russian Military elite understand, too, the real-world consequences of even a single nuclear strike. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if this request by Putin (though unlikely) was refused.
Don't forget the medical train.
It will be bringing back both wonded soldiers and civilians.
It will be running constantly
Fair play to him. He's no Paul Gogarty though
Very considerate of the Russians to keep slowly driving columns of vehicles into cities and parking them up to be destroyed. It’s like they are dropping old vehicles to a recycling centre.
