Tesco revoked his club card as well
As long as Putin has the military (which at the moment could be on shaky ground) then he has power. We've seen many autocrats annihilate their own economies, drive their countries into conflict and survive perfectly intact.
Every little bit helps..
Good article here from a few years ago about Russia's incredibly poor performance against tiny Georgia and the persisting problems in their armed forces.
While some improvements have been made, seems pretty much identical to the problems being encountered now. Especially the focus on the air force.

All the talk about NATO encroaching on Russia being a trigger for Russian military action is BS. Russia under Putin was always going to try to bring all Non NATO former soviet countries back into mother Russia and be at NATO's borders. Be idiotic to think otherwise.
I think they just meant a land corrider from Russia to Crimea i.e being able to drive a car from Russia to there
It's not about luxury - it;s about telling the truth, so average Russian deep inland knows that there is the siege of Kiev. It's hard to imagine for internet savvy people in the free world, but if all you have are the official TV channels suddenly the world is a different place. Those phone calls are supposed to change that information blockade.
Tbh I think it's a strategy by the Ukrainians to get word into the Russian population that the "peacekeeping" mission isn't transpiring in the way the Russian media are presenting. Also Russians and Ukrainians share a lot with each other and there are close family ties between a lot of them.
However if the NovoFuhrer goes down the total war route then anyone captured from the Russian forces will be in a very precarious position.
Nah. They need to 24/7 stream “operation transformation” . Turn the country pink over night 😧
No, the agreement will include the demand that Ukraine remains a neutral buffer zone.
Zelensky has already stated that he's open to this possibility.
There is far too much acrimony and water under the bridge now. Putin has burnt all the bridges in spectacular fashion. There can be no smiles or hand-shaking between them. If the Ukrainians were to do this, it would vindicate and embolden Russia. This will just be fuel for the Russian propaganda. I do not think Putin will remain in power for much longer. That is the only natural sequence of events in my head
Yes it will, every step, no matter how small that can isolate Putin is a step in the right direction
For now. However, once a military gets to a certain size it must be used periodically. The US and UK do this and it is essential to keep standards up. The Russians did it in a far too limited way and they are paying the price now. If Germany develop a powerful military, they will have to find someone to use it on, and they will.
...and then joins NATO.
Putin has to go from the moment he took off his mask and revealed his insanity for all the world to see.
That’ll show ‘em
Never mind the abandoned and undamaged vehicles they have taken, the amount of equipment they have destroyed has been something far exceeding most outsiders thought would have been possible. They have fought for everything, not taken a backward step. Fought with courage and stuck to plans, sucked Russians in to ambushes and destroyed entire columns in the process. Their bravery is awe inspiring.
"Some" might need to wise up.
Having a few gay characters in a soap = gay porn....lol
We've just closed our airspace to the Russians
This is massive in the longer term. Russia has properly awakened EU nations to the fact that they can't solely rely on the US miltary and they need to have their own means to defend themselves. I wonder will our government follow suit in a strategic fashion in terms of improving our naval capacity.
They don't deserve that luxury already.
? Trump just called Putin a genius a day or two before the invasion and openly fawned over him. Can you imagine Trump in power during this crisis? Jesus christ.
If that happens captured Russian troops won't be given the option to phone home anymore....
They will never send the oligarchs’ children. It will never be the influential families offering their child to slaughter. It will be some poor gobshite, whose family barely have a pot to piss in that will see their child die for the greater good of the motherland. Dulce et decorum est, Russia
Along with this we need someone who can get close to him to give him the old OBE and finally get someone sane into power to put an end to this.
A treaty, or withdrawal peaceful treaty will never be possible with Putin still in power.
Seems like an own goal from Putin. Should not have invaded . Time to sit around the table and negotiate
A far more likely outcome is that Putin and Zelensky meet around the negotiation table; Putin takes Donbas and declares it a victory for a people who want to be free; and Ukraine declares victory by claiming to have beaten Russia.
No chance of that one. A land corridor to Kaliningrad means incursion on NATO territory, and that's real arse-clench time.
If it comes and Kyiv falls, like many have said it will not be the end of the war, Ukraine will start fight hard. But if Zelensky dies, and especially dies in battle, can you imagine the motion and anger that is gonna pour out of Ukrainian people. The bloodlust will be immense.
No, they can't. I have Ukrainian friend and she had to apply for a visa once in a while even after being married to an Irish. Not sure how that has been changed after the government waived vises for them.
