Biden should be asking Trump to call Putin, he's the only one likely to talk him down, no one else could.
Even if true, they may well be up against it. Tanks are not necessarily much use in large cities with multiple high rise buildings and may be very vulnerable to attack themselves.
thats the correct strategy to treat them properly and humanely because thats the quickest way out of this to counter Putin's propaganda and turn the russian army back onto Putin. When the russian army realize that they will be treated ok more will give up thats what Putin didn't take into account, he is stuck in 1917 not 2022

Yeah, it's not difficult to do the math - if Putin is saying we're redoing the 1917 borders, and attacks Ukraine, then Finland is on the list of countries under threat. But if Finland is going to join NATO, then it should happen while Russia is busy elsewhere - and not in 2024 when there's "military excericses" in Karelia.

Interesting twitter thread from Riho Terras, an Estonian MEP (former General of the Estonian army and later the head of the Estonian Defence Forces)
He has said that the Russians will run out of steam after a maximum of 10 days, that they did not foresee such dedicated resistance and more importantly that they cannot replace their losses of heavy weapons and armor.
According to him, if the Ukranians can keep up organised resistance and don't panic they can grind down the invasion.
If Ukraine manages to hold the Russians off for 10 days, then the Russians will have to enter negotiations. Because they have no money, weapons, or resources

Here's a theory. NATO is clearly involved and have been for over a week. Anyone watching ADS-B for the last week will know that, despite people saying Biden or the US is doing little, nothing could be further from the truth. E8, Rivet Joint and Global Hawks have been sending Intel ( troop movements etc) through secure Data Link to Ukranian leaders on the ground. That's the result of all the Western Communication equipment and training given to the Ukraine armed forces over the last few years.
The skies over Poland, Romania, Cyprus and all the other Baltic states has been alive with US and allies air assets for a week now. The US has been getting involved quietly and calmly. Now they, the Germans, Poles, British, French ,etc are ready.
Everything is in place for a Shock and Awe, lightning fast attack on key Russian military and industrial targets all across the country using CONVENTIONAL weapons. That's key.
You see, Russia may use a small kiloton, low yield missile on a remote Ukranian target to warn the West to back off with the Military Aid to Ukraine. It's quite plausible that this may happen.
However, the US has capabilities that, even after 30 years of studying and researching their technical prowess, still stocks me. Plus they have experience in war. Trust me, if a nuclear weapon is detonated as a warning, the conventional strike that will immediately occur will set Russia back 100 years. It will be precise, military and industrial. It will completely eliminate command and control centres for Nuclear assets.
Everyting is in place now. While the world's focus is on Eastern Europe, go take a look at what has been happening in US bases around the Pacific and Middle East.
This will be the only time and opportunity in it's history the US will have to finally take Russia and Putin out of the race for good.

Totally agree. It will be interesting to see what Finland does in the coming weeks in terms of looking to join NATO or not. You would have to think the past week's action by Russia have tipped the balance towards them joining NATO and sooner rather then later too.
