Whatever about the 90s I would have thought hacking in the 80s might have been a little soon.
Read this earlier. Intelligence in this war is playing a blinder. Two nasty pieces of work are no more.
This whole thing has the vibe of when the Nazis underestimated the Russians, and sent their soldiers to war without even basic snow boots. Russia will deplete its resources in Kyiv. And then what will be left to maintain their grip on the Ukraine or invade other “Soviet” countries
The Snake Island 13 might be alive according to Ukranian officials!
It appears I am wrong!
Seriously? I would love it if were true!
Norway have been on Russias doorstep since 1949,and one of the founders of NATO
The Russians seem to be advancing much slower again than they expected. I think confidence is growing within the Ukrainians. I was watching the stream for a bit and expecting to see some explosions in the night sky but nothing. There was shooting sounds which I think are were coming from a north direction (left of camera). That's in the area the Chechen leader was killed and Children's hospital was hit.
It's interesting that that fella was killed in North West Kiev considering Chechnya is south east of Ukraine. They obviously brought this group of psychos to Kiev on a special mission.
That's true to an extent, in assuming Russia are will to pay for that cost of sacking Kyiv.
With tens of thousands of motivated Ukrainian soliders and armed civilians, it would take an obsene Russian death toll to go building-to-building, door-to-door to root out and destroy the city's defenders. The other path of course the Russian's want to bomb Kyiv to oblivion, and accept a catastophic civilian death count. Either way, this invasion is going badly for Russia so far.
They are, and in addition Lithuania and Norway border Russia, as does Poland in Kalingrad but the length of the border is quite small. Putins fake propaganda was that NATO surrounded Russia, that was untrue. However has actions this week mean that countries that resisted NATO membership for 6 decades must now seriously consider their position, Finland in NATO would drastically increase the size of the border.
If that happens the only person responsible is Putin himself.
Of course! The Moon is made of cheddar, the white type.
Putin getting angry with Nato is like car crashes getting angry with car insurance.
Was actually the plot of an 80's movie with Matthew Broderick
this is like looking at a Rambo movie and is inspiring to see how the Ukrainians are defending, but this is not a movie and Putin is clearly sick, its not going to end well and I pray for us all
Thank you! I edited my original post with the correction.
The Russian attack on Ukraine is appalling. We are praying for the proud people of Ukraine. God bless them all.
As everyone understands, this horrific disaster would never have happened if our election was not rigged and if I was the president.
I stand as the only president of the 21st century on whose watch Russia did not invade another country
The incompetent fools reaction.
Don't worry I am easily old enough to remember it, but at the time I thought it was about as realistic as Starwars, with me sitting at home with my spectrum 48k and a circle dial telephone.
could also encourage more unrest at home generally and in separatist places like dagestan and chechneya if left undefended
I did not ask why Ireland is not sending in troops, I was replying to a poster who said sending irish troops wouldnt make a difference.
When your post fails to get past your very own 1st point I stopped there, as I said, read it again and get back to me.
I assume that is Trump
He is truly a sociopath. How is he going to get his swift payments from Russia now? Damn!
They sent you a email. Open your spam
I heard he was on the way to "peacekeep" the Mexico border when his bone spurs flared up again.
PayPal, friends payment
What a narcissist. (Not news, I know.)
It might be true.
Big loss for Russia. Ukraine definitely getting real time info from America etc.
Yea, the fact there is not really an end game for this, and the fact that Putin has alluded to nukes does make me worry that this could all turn into a serious sh1t show. Covid, while totally unrelated, had thought me one thing, status quos can change super fast out of nowhere.
I am assuming at this point both sides are desperate to start talks but Russia cannot start them without dropping unreasonable demands, doing that would be basically be a loss for Putin.
Strategically Putin would have been much smarter to simply or even subtly annex the Pro Russian areas with his “peacekeeping” troops.
The part that worries me is that he was willing to do what he did. I’m still stunned, before now I always had this image of him as a ruthless leader who had equally mastered the art of foreign policy.
If you (not you above, poster or anyone in particular) follow every up and down in fortunes you will end up living on emotion more than on reason. Ethics requires reasoning and deserves thoughtful consideration. Propagandists on all sides want you to self-harm by living on emotion and sentiment and by abandoning reason, so er... be careful out there.
You would have to think that the last few days have pretty much proved the benefits and whys of NATO membership to a country like Finland given how long their border is with Russia.
