Russian security forces rioting like that is historically very rare.
There's a road back for Russia of course, but not with Putin and his enablers at the helm. Japan and Germany are thoroughly rehabilitated countries.
Most Russians don't want anything to do with this war that a narrow circle of Russian elites wanted, that will become clearer and clearer the longer it goes on when the costs become obvious to the Russian people.

Why do you make the claim about 'most Russians'?
This feels like wishful thinking otherwise we'd be seeing millions on the streets of Russian cities, rather than the handfuls we have seen (who were swiftly removed).
Whilst other banks can be sanctioned, the Central bank, even in crisis, would be pretty off-limits for essential economic reasons. This is very unprecedented stuff.

A day or two ago I was predicting a quick collapse of Ukraine from Russian "shock and awe" tactics, now, I dare to say it, it almost seems to be the opposite. I know we are just receiving the "good news", but I'll never underestimate the Russian forces, but it feels like the morale and momentum is with the Ukrainian defenders now. Extraordinary.
Nope , the warmer temperature mean that Russian convoys have to travel on the roads , and it's easier to predict their routes and..hold them up .. Russians know how to keep vehicles going in winter - heated tanks - light fires under engines ( seriously ) and run trucks on petrol .. the thaw is Ukraine's ally
you would want millons of Russians out in the streets to maybe have some impact while those out the last few days are brave its only a tiny amount overall .

Russian vehicles have been filmed stopped on Ukrainian highways, out of fuel. Also the Ukrainians now know that the Russians are crudely disguising their fuel trucks to look like normal transports so are deliberately focusing on them as targets.
It's going to be an interest Monday morning in Moscow, that's for sure
