Are you completely mad? People across Europe, including Ireland, are talking of little else!
Sit back and think of England sure
Russia should be thankful it's a legacy nuclear power from the Soviet Union, because if a fraction of Nato air power was let loose over the skies of Ukraine, they'd all be scurrying back to behind the Urals.
Embassy's are dead weight the vast majority of the time, but at times of war they fulfil their main purpose
We don't have to like the Russian ambassador. But we need a channel of communication...
Also, its a focal point for the Irish public to express our anger at what Russia are doing
See that the Youtube vlogger, 'Bald and Bankrupt' is in Kiev, or at least was as of earlier today. He's been doing a lot of gonzo travelling around the former USSR the last few years and having amazing adventures off the beaten path, hitching lifts in rusty Ladas and being invited into old people's houses in the Chernobyl exclusion zone. Think he may have bitten off more than he can chew with hanging around Kiev at this point in time, though. Hopefully he's hitched a lift out of there.
As awful as what's happening in Ukraine is, let's not forget or diminish the valiant destruction of the Russian Army by Ukrainian forces / civilians.
Yes, what Russia is doing is vile and disgusting.
But what Ukraine and its leader are doing is showing that their resolve to fight against this evil is on a completely different, and unexpected level.
Their pistols are pretty nice as well. Had a CZ-75 as a sidearm when I worked security for the US Army in Germany back in the day. When you take good care of one, even someone like me can reliably hit a target at surprisingly long distances.
I think Ukraines army have started too cut the supply lines in ambushes
Seen alot of pics and videos about destroyed supply trucks lately, including fuel trucks
Or make there way to Moldova and Georgia...
I'm thinking of them, pick the battles, don't take on a tank with a fork through passion. Need to pick these bastards off one by one,
This “might” resonate somewhere with you ;
“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”
I bet it was,i had some CZ rifles i used for hunting in my younger days
Very realiable and accurate rifles
Have we sent any weaponry to Ukraine? I’m sure there’s a few Javelins around that we could send along with rifles
One day I'll be speeding on the M7 and I'll see a flicker out of the corner of my eye, and for a few seconds will be worried I missed spotting a go safe van, and then a Javelin will come through the roof.
Unless they fire them all ... A fired missile Is a useless missile ,
And I do understand that just handing out very expensive pieces of kit - obviously with zero records or comeback will mean that loads will go missing , be buried , be lost and then found by others - although that's kind of the point - a couple of years in a potato clamp then brought out to shoot at a Russian helicopter or personnel carrier...
A buy back scheme will need to be in place , for after the Russian are gone , hopefully funded with impounded Russian bank money ..
Looks like the Chechens are having second thoughts about being in Ukraine
Still a great 9mm ,
Big fan of the new Evo scorpions and 805bren now bren2 rifles
Be wasting your time sending a few shotguns
I think they would have enough now to cause enough trouble for Putin, atleast for a while.
Maybe some more air defence manpads would be a better option.
Yes, the one on the right is Kadyrov.
You and Growleaves should get a room and go make babies.
Yes Putins head chopper
No one wants to see these people losing, everyone wants a victory, they've never known war, strength in numbers
Spineless ****.
Polish hospital train is in Ukraine. 120 hospitals declared they are ready to take wounded solders.
Sweden also decided not to play against Russia - well done!
EU FM meeting called for tomorrow 6 pm to decide on emergency aid for Ukrainian armed forces.
There are calls from multiple organizations in Poland to boycott Russian and Belarusian products. Bar codes start with 460 to 469 for Russia and 481 for Belarus.
The organization working with foreign investors (Polska Agencja Inwestycji i Handlu - Polish Agency for Investment and Trade) announced that is ceased all cooperation with Russian companies
Pewtin probably told him it was just a few rebels. Propoganda must be crazy in Russia atm
And to think the **** Storm a while back when Ukrainian soldiers (female ) were going to march in a parade in high heels
I'd imagine that's true of every Russian embassy in the world.
Someone rightly pointed out in the comments that this could well be a deepfake video, and it has an air of one to be honest. Think we all have a responsibility to be careful to share only credible and verified content. This war is moving at a million miles an hour and there's plenty of latitude for fake news to get in under the floorboards and wreak havoc on the thread.
We need to leave the fake news to the Putinbots.
I find this all dreadfully sad. I am no longer young. When I was 19 I saw the Soviet union collapse and I rejoiced. I loved the freedom that Europe gave me. I traveled and worked in Eastern Europe. I fell in love with the people and Slavic culture. My kids are half Slavic and half Celtic.
Russia is a tyrnical regime but Russians are not monsters. The first twitter post I opened on this tread had a picture of a dead Russian kid in uniform. I thought of my sons when I saw it. My sadness is that Poland had Lech Walesa, Czechslovakia had Vaclav Havel. They were men, they were democrats, they were Europeans of the highest order.
Russia got Boris Yeltsin a beer soaked gobshite, the weakness that was Boris opened the door for a monster like Putin. If only Russia had found a man of heart like Lech or Vaclav we would not be here.
