More whataboutery.
In fairness the looney "right" in Ireland is most just Conspiracy Theorists and woo loons who will cross over with some of the looney left on a huge amount of subjects.
Russia need to expelled from all sporting events and competitions they take part in, for as long as they continue to occupy another sovereign nation. All grants and sponsorships withdrawn. And that includes that nonsensical ROC workaround they've arranged with the Olympics.
Launching a nuclear weapon shouldn't be in the hands of Putin; it should also involve decision-making down the line, including from the military.
It's nuts that the entire Russian nuclear arsenal is held that tightly by just one person and one decision.
What happens if Putin is indeed malfunctioning under mental illness? Does he still retain that right to launch these weapons whenever he chooses?
It just isn't right; it's bonkers.
I see. Here in the UK, Comrade Corbyn will soon address a Stop the War rally.
The far-right are likely to either be sneaking regarders for Putin, or overtly support Putin. That's the colour of their money.
The far-left spend their days daydreaming about fascism and when it comes up and bites them in the face like this they refuse to recognize it for what it is and refuse to make a stand. They have to answer the question themselves, is my political outlook actually anti-fascist, or have I just been weaned on a steady diet of anti-Western nonsense all my life?
Not completely. The point is Putin has fooled both the extreme right and the extreme left in Europe (and extreme right in the US). Wallace/Murphy/et all in on the left in Ireland. Orban in Hungary, and Milos Zeman in Czech Republic on the right.
Roscommon are fond of them
With every passing day im more on board with him being seriously sick. The suspicion is hes taking steroids but for what exactly nobody knows. Macron said hes a completely different person than when they met 3 years ago and apparently during Covid he completely isolated himself as well as reducing and reinforcing his closest circles of friends and advisors.
Its going to take an almighty protest movement by the russian people either supported or just allowed happen by the military to stop him.
You would also hope that if it does get to the button pushing stage that even the most loyal of those around him will realise that hey they arent terminally sick and would prefer not having to die in a nuclear winter.
It's not that hard to fool a fool.
At least they're now unmasked for what they are. The shades of gray are gone.
To paraphrase our former president Eamonn de valera " burn everything Russian except her oil".
And of course Nigal atni-forienger in the UK.
The Putin junta has been financing the far right and far left for years to foster discontent in numerous countries. TBH this is not about right or left politics any more. The is about right and wrong and Russia crossed the line years ago into the wrong territory. Anyone who defends this regime is either an idiot or has "skin in the game".
And before someone hits me with whataboutary over the US etc. I know they also do wrong but they are not as big a threat to peace in Europe and potentially world peace at this time. It appears we have a madman who is potentially terminally ill in charge of a nuclear armed regional power who has to be confronted.
He's aged very badly. I hate looking at him, there's something repulsive about his face. And I felt that way before the invasion when I was prepared to cut him/them some slack.
George Orwell said "After forty, everyone has the face they deserve."
I don't think its mental/physical decline, but rather a form of spiritual corruption.
Similar on BBC when they were reporting on the Snake Island incident.
"The Ukrainians replied telling them to get lost".
I don't get it. I don't expect you to actually say it but is there really any harm whatsoever at all in saying "The Ukrainians crudely told the Russian's to go F themselves". The last, very brave words from by people in the face of inevitable death.
We're talking about a European war in which hundreds are dying and a democratic nation is at risk of having its freedom, Government and state dismantled by a bully nuclear power.
But we seemingly can't make any inference that bad language has been used in the midst of this devastating conflict.
Laughable.
I have a copy of War & Peace we could burn, perhaps?
We lurch from one hysteria to another.
It's the number of these reports that's really surprising.
Apparently Orban has just agreed, Hungary supports the Swift ban.
Totally embarrassing.
Must be getting pretty desperate if he is bringing these kind of weapons into play......and when he's used these up, what next? Nuclear?
Worried about the next phase for Kyiv, I suspect the Russians will focus heavily on cutting power/water/food/internet in order to break Ukrainian morale which seems to be their strongest enemy at the moment
But they are advancing, aren't they?
As man that knows nothing about gas pipelines, so forgive me, how much of an effort would it be for the Ukrainians to blow the pipelines into Europe.
I know Poland have been good to Ukraine but there are still EU countries handing money over to Russia for gas. It would be a blow for Eastern/Central Europe but if the pipes run dry, they'll have no choice but to kick something up.
He's facing an election in 4 weeks, he knows if he is on the wrong side of history he will be out of a job then.
Plus it looks like his major ally in Russia could be seeing the business end of a Makarov really soon if things keep going the way they are.
Lithuania just closed it's airspace to Russian airlines, so far it's: UK, Poland, Bulgaria, Latvia, Estonia, Czech Republic.
It's not "only coming to light". Our security services are not idiots, they already know what they are up to. Embassies are used for spying. Every (superpower) embassy here does the same, and in every other country in the world. Some of it is blatant - most US embassies have radio-transparent structures on the roof to hide all their eavesdropping devices. Or entire floors with radio-transparent panels instead of windows.

From what I heard getting them into NATO is impossible. NATO doesn't take in countries with problems on borders. Getting the to NATO now would mean 3 WW. I'd love to see Ukraine flooded with support, ammunition, warpons, intelligence, you name it. Ukraine in EU? As soon as they are free again I hope to see a massive financial support form EU to rebuild the country, economy and industry. They voted with bullets to join EU.
PS: Info from Polish news: there are reports of whole groups of Russians surrendering to Ukrainian forces. The Russians are saying during interrogations they were told they are going for military exercise, not for invasion. Vdeos/photos of Russian army gear begin dumped. Citizens of Konotopy are saying Russians are trying to sell fuel in exchange for food.
Just found out my 80 year old mother has been trying to call Ukrainian embassy to offer a room to refugees.
I've seen a good few posts of Russians prisoners carrying Aks 3 magazines and a bayonet.
I wouldn't be heading to war with only 3 magazines
God they spin everything.
