Poland and the Polish Govt have really helped set the bench mark for Western Europe in this.
Stanislav Petrov, known as the man that saved the world, in my eyes one of the greatest people in history. Another hugely brave man that was 1 of 3 people needed to turn the key and refused to launch during the Kennedy era standoff at Cuba despite ordersnto do so
It just shows what a sh1tshow fifa is that the Russians are even included at this stage. A corrupt horrible organisation.
IL-76 currently approaching Crimea at 30,000. It underflew a Global Hawk. Hopefully its position was relayed to anti-aircraft assets on the ground. Possibly a HALO drop?
its fairly obvious a lot of the Russian soldiers I’ve seen in several videos don’t want to be there..
What?
Americans are pretty much saying shoot at me I fcuking dare you.
The only chance they have of turning on Putin is when lots and lots of troops die. That's unfortunately the only thing that will begin a coup.
Yeah your probably right there , think another poster yesterday was talking about the human aspect of it , that many people would have to be complicit and to actually push the button on a nuke so it was highly unlikely.
One can hope. Putins removal by any means necessary would be the best outcome not just for Ukraine but the world in general.
I've seen post and articles trying to ridicule Macron by saying he is trying to imitate De Gaulle. But given the current situation Europe could do with a De Gaulle, even a shallow imitation is better than nothing.
US Black Hawks now delivering supplies from.Hungary to the border.
Trump and Putin are cut from the same cloth. Biden is weak but at least he is predictable. I don’t know what policy Trump would have followed in this situation. His instinct if I had to guess would have bolstered NATO borders but leave Ukraine swinging…which I guess isn’t that different to Biden lol
I'm sure we could find common ground on many things and that you're a grand fella, but you come across as over excited (not in a good way) by the bloodshed of the past few days. Maybe it's a quirk of your posting style. Maybe you have some personal stake in what's going on. I don't know, but it's rabid.
I know this fella in the US that's absolutely rabid when it comes to military matters.. he was denied a place in the military due to a hearing condition and his rabidness is a way of compensating for that. Quite pathetic really. I know another, ex-military, that is the same except he suffers terribly from PTSD... very sad what the MIC turned him into. The vast majority of military and ex-military people I know and I know hundreds, just don't go on like you do.. they are more considered.
You don't lose your empathy and humanity even in war time -- that is why we have rules of war covering everything from humiliating enemy dead, treatment of prisoners etc. Sorry if that offends your taste, but it is the law and it is there to protect people from rabid soldiers that lose sight of our common humanity.
Not really, there's 20,000 feet clearance in height between them.
Where ya going?
60 is not exactly an invasion force
Ukrainian forces have repelled an attack by 60 Russian paratroopers near Lviv. Lviv’s mayor, Andriy Sadovyi, said the Russian soldiers were reported to have retreated after clashing with the army in Brody, western Ukraine, about 65 miles from the city.
EDIT: There seems to be some confusion now about this claim.
Russian Ilyushin II has just crossed 'paths' with the Global Hawk in the Black Sea. Huge difference in altitude between both obviously (GH at 56,000 and Ilyushin at 32,000). The Ilyushin heading for Crimea by the looks of it.
Don’t know. I suspect if he ordered it over a battle with Ukraine not going well that his own generals would put a bullet in him. Nukes are essentially a revenge weapon when a war has been lost.
It appears that Putin and his Generals based their plans on this. It's like they haven't seen the stoic defense by the Ukraine armed forces since 2014.
This misadventure could very well end Putin's presidency.
Russian and US air force marking each other

Depends if you think the guy is actually in sound mind. The jury appears out on that
I've got nothing only massive respect for the Ukrainian people. They're fighting like absolute dogs. Their bravery is hugely impressive. The president, if he isn't killed will be a popular figure among the people in years coming. It would be easy for him to head off to Poland and call the shots.
Brave brave people. I hope that cnut putin chokes in what real bravery looks like.
I'm not an expert on this topic , did study international relations in college so understand a bit. But have we not reached a stage now with Putin , that saying not a chance is wrong? Genuinely asking...
Yes there flying constantly.
Massive aircraft fast and agile
I can't praise the Ukraine people enough for their courage and bravery. Trying to fight the leading sabeutours with the Russians coming up behind is not an easy task, and I was delighted to wake this morning to see the city and people still stood tall.
What exactly do you expect Ukraine to do? Roll out the red carpet and let Russia walk all over them? Nobody likes it but Russia are the aggressors here so their losses by attempting to invade another country is solely down to them. There's no conflict taking place on Russian soil remember.
One took off from Rzezow earlier heading to the border ,if not dropping supplies they could be providing cover for a convoy
