Ukraine can do what ever she likes (within international law) if she wants to join NATO or the EU or change her flag to a LGBT one, it's well within her rights. How people are still trying to justify this war is beyond me.
Supposedly suppression and control of a hostile civillian population requires a 1:10 ratio. The entire Russian military is 1.1m. They would need 4.4m people. If you have to pay them €10 k a year, that's a €44b wage bill alone. That's about 3% of their entire 2020 GDP, which if the sanctions do anything like what they ought, should tank.
One way to have world peace ( in the east or elsewhere) is to not invade your next door neighbour.

Ukraine lost, days or weeks, Russia will takeover. West and EU can continue out this fantasy on TV and radio on forums that somehow Putin will be removed. He will not be, end of story. If was not Putin it be another leader in Russia have invaded eventually. The reality, genuine peace Russia and Nato need to stop trying to outdo each other and have a serious discussions to create world peace in the east. The alternative is nuclear mushroom clouds were we all stop chatting on the internet and the earth is radio active wasteland. Tit for tat is how major wars commence.
