I second that too. For once our government did something right that everyone would be proud of. I'd personally try take in a family if they needed a safe space. None of us could imagine what these people are going through.
Agreed. Most leaders in a situation like this are whisked away to safety. Zelensky is the epitome of leadership. He truly is a man of his people.
There tough aircraft and can be quiet effective in certain areas
Every Ukrainian solider tonight
I'd love if that was true. But Russia had 200k soldiers on the border. To the people who's lives are spent planning wars, 200 soldiers is acceptable loss.
If it becomes 20000, then maybe the generals and public will begin to resist.
Don't think anyone's thinking that. Like when the earth is dying, animals are dying, the Amazon is dying, we have war in Europe, sometimes it's nice to celebrate the little victories. Like a bag of sweets of a Friday night or a defensive force getting any kind of win against an invader.
UN Russian chair just said there is no evidence Russia are bombing any cities in Ukraine, and that the pictures of civilians being killed are actually by Ukranian forces and that the west has a cheek to "moralize" the issue, good god - making the UN to be a joke.
You'd think so, but that's naive.
The people who believe the 'liberating the people' narrative are already too far gone. They would cheerlead anything up to a nuclear strike, and even then, some of them would support even this
They are a proven effective jet though, quite common to have old fleets across the globe, US B52 are 70 years old and still going strong.
Modi is definitely another one to watch out for. Dangerous person.
The UN has been a joke for years, crippled by the permanent member security council vetoes, it's symbolic of a historic time in geopolitics and nothing more.
Looks like the US might be stepping up aid to Ukraine..
The B52 is one of the greatest airframes of all time. They'll still be in service 100 years after maiden flight.
Putin lies about everything, and considering the armoured Lada's he's using to invade Ukraine I doubt they have 1/10th of the nuclear weapons they claim to have.
But if the suggested figure of over 1k dead in barely first 48 hours and double figure loses for aircraft it won't be long before we are looking at that 20k figure, triple digit loses on tanks and armour ,
I know they will keep sending more but for what reason
Most of what they have there would have diesel engines. Older ones used either Kerosene, or even petrol. And if one of them does run out of fuel, can be quite a job getting them going again, means having to bleed all the air out of the system, first from the fuel tank to the Lift Pump, then through the fuel filter, then to the high pressure pump, and finally to each individual injector. Your battery better be beyond good, and you don't need anyone taking pot shots at you.
May he rest in peace. I hope his successor is as principled and dedicated to protect his nation as he is

He obviously only watches the state propaganda news. They should have no issues with UN observers on the ground to confirm that?
Some of their answers/comments are reminiscent of times you would be saying the dog ate your homework.
It's been surreal watching the last few days. I really really hope they can repel the attack but from reading the views of the 'in the knows' they will eventually fall. Some fight they are putting up though- emotional watching.
I can't for the life of me see what Putin is hoping to achieve. He has set Russia back decades and I think his day's could be numbered now. Convinced he is ill. I would love for nothing more to see him in the dock at the Hague along with some of his pals.
How is this not simply terrorism?
Russia is now a terrorist state
With respect to your response, in the context of the mafia reference, if the boss is acting out then the boss will be got rid off.
Just on this. Have we had any evidence of Russia using their high tech gear yet? Like the Su-57, T-14 Armata or thr Terminator yoke?
Fully agree. If this goes sideways, he'll either hang in Red Square or be behind bulletproof plexiglass in a court in The Hague. He's risking it all.
Also worth noting they are just the headline figures.
They excluded wounded/captured soldiers.
I'm sure there's some stat (been so many wars) that for X number of casualties you should see Y number of injured etc...
Weird times. On the same side as him.
It’s utterly bizarre that they can say this with a straight face. Lavrov tried to claim that this action was trying to make Ukraine independent, despite the fact the Ukraine has been independent since 1991. Okay it’s been a bit bumpy at times but it’s been an independent country.
They only have 7 su57 airframes and it's still under going testing and the tank isn't even in production.
Meanwhile the Americans stated production on the B21 latest stealth bomber,
The terminator is only a fighting vehicle with 2 30mm canons and a few rockets
The casualties will always be highest in the initial invasion, so 1000 casualties in days 1 and 2 may be seen as acceptable losses if it allows them to crush the standing army and over-run the capital.
