Beat me to it .
That's half of the problem. Vlad knows he has to win this. He cannot lose. He will throw everything at it. He has taken his dick out and is betting that what his missus is saying is a good size is actually true.
We'll soon find out if she was just humouring him.
No, there is no reason to behave this way.
Simple fact, NATO don't have people join who are in active conflict. Russia have had their puppets keep a state of basically war in Eastern Ukraine since 2014. By just leaving them there Ukraine couldn't join NATO. It was a genius move in fairness. But he's since decided for me it seems.
Another Russian SU25 and Russian helicopter shot down near Donbas
The minnow against the mighty. You could have nothing but admiration for Ukraine right now, and in particular for Zelensky who is motivating his people against a megolomaniac, and knows that every minute he is alive brings him closer to his death. That is some attitude, and hard to imagine how he keeps going in the face of his nearly certain demise.
I don't have much to say, but a big thanks to those who are keeping the faith on the thread and thankfully (good mods) a relatively civilized discourse.
Covid over, Conflict begins.
I don't think massacring plane loads of any people is nice to think of
Putin is a ****, the soldiers in his army are human beings, even though they're invading another country, and they are being sacrificed as part of Putin's war, i don't think it's nice to think of their massacre
Children in Russia will lose parents because of that.
None of this is nice to think of.
It's horrific
Vlad had a phone call with Modi earlier
I don't want to sound like I'm siding with the enemy's but Putin worth billions sitting on his fat ass in a luxurious governmental building eating cavier and drinking the finest vodka by the bucket load while sending young Russian soldiers from mostly poor backgrounds to their unnecessary death is disgusting.
They're friendly with the Russians (military aid), but also have strong ties with the US - so at least they didn't vote against. Same goes for China - they could have voted against as well, but they didn't.
No idea what UAE are on about.
And if the EU wants to keep it's freedoms we should learn a valuable lesson never appease anyone that displays such character traits again. Even if that means stop doing business with China, sending **** influencers to Dubai etc so be it.
In a way Putin has been a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Any chance Nato could hold military exercises near enough to Russia to draw attention, while at the same time US and EU nationals are advised to leave Russia, put the fear of god into the generals?
How the fcuk could the UAE abstain, watched an Indian news program and their response wasn't unexpected, they seem to see themselves as an honest broker
I suppose even with a 50% success rate they would be a huge success, they are supposed to be much more accurate than that though. A $175k missile taking out a $4million tank is a money well spent, huge moral boost too and puts fear in to any Russian in a tank, they would feel safer outside it.
Confirmed by Ukrainian General Staff apparently:
I don't know. Although their recent record (increasingly authoritarian and sectarian) might explain it.
Let any Indians you know exactly what you think of this stain on their country's honour.
First of all…I am sorry for not having read through this thread to date…
But in this strange circumstances I tend to ask why one is acting exceptionally…why is Putin behaving this way….?
Is he somewhat “justified” in believing NATO is threatening Russia by expanding eastwards. There is obvious evidence since the fall of the Berlin Wall that NATO is expanding closer to Russia’s borders and thus limiting its power globally.
For the record; I believe Putin is in the same category of human as Hitler; a violent uncivilised human being. However we can’t fight against an enemy if we don’t attempt to understand his motivations, at least.
They are tied into joint military development programs everything from ships , drone and fighter jets
They buy fertiliser from Russian on a very large scale
How good would it be if Russians filled their fuel tanks in Ukraine with tainted diesel, ruining their engines
What is the story with India abstaining?
Thanks, haven’t been able to read specifics or full articles but the clause in part 3 there but note it says the party of dispute ‘shall’ (not ‘must’) abstain. Russia voted against so I’m guessing they are getting away with it due to poor wording in the charter?
Either way, doesnt really make a difference as if the resolution was passed would Putin really care?
The second aircraft they downed tonight fair play to the lads
Would be nice to think they managed to massacre a planeload before they could land but I'll wait for confirmation.
Absolutely , we've seen since desert storm and possibly further back in the Arab- Israeli Russian tanks and armour aren't the great game changer they were always made out to be ,the same in Syria and eastern Ukraine the latest issue T90 tanks litter the battlefield , extremely subseptble to anti tank weapons .
Compare to the Abrams tank I know which one I'd rather be sitting in conflict against other tanks
No, on how developments are quickly unfolding.
I had the forces coming in further to the west. Makes sense if they came across from that location, it's a shorter route. Still 100 miles across enemy lands. Resistance had to be patchy.
Apparently, it was carrying paratroopers, so the capacity would have been more 128-145, but still a massive blow. That could make the difference in some sector tonight.
China have their own affairs to look after then taking sides here. They can just sit back and watch things develop while considering their own invasion of Taiwan which will likely happen if Russia's invasion is a success.
This permanent membership should come with strings attached that can be firmly cut if you invade your Sovereign neighbors
