Its not off topic in this thread to consider SF's revolving attitudes to world politics depending on which way the wind is blowing
They're OK with Ireland not being neutral on Russias Ukraine invasion, because its such a big thing,an entire country
Worldwide recognition of Russias crime
Yet in supreme hypocrisy, they were not OK with Ireland objecting to Russia taking parts of it When their whole being is to reverse the UK taking part of Ireland
Sf's friend Maduro of Venezuela has supported the invasion
Cuba at least has a tiny bit of sense and has stayed quiet
The SF weasel words in full flow to try and deflect from the party's dogdy voting record on Russian matters.
The EU Parliament motion was to condemn Russia for invading and annexing Crimea. Nothing to do with the US or NATO.
Trying to shoehorn them in to deflect from SF's reluctance to criticise Russia is pretty despicable (and also is aping the standard tactics used by the Russian disinformation campaigns over the past number of years).
It seems that Sinn Fein continue to have a problem with bullying, women and Protestants.
"No Woman Left Behind" eh Mary-Lou?
At least shinnerbots will be able to use their beloved “living rent free” catchphrase with less irony now.
They haven’t gone away, you know.
a party member and TD who has no idea who actually controls the party eh ? sort of what is being said here a long time
“The Sinn Féin TDs in Leinster House I cannot fault but they are not tasked with making decisions locally and seem to be an entirely separate entity with no power to influence."
so who does control sf ? any answers welcome
Quite apart from the spotlight this throws once again on the murky management level of SF, one really must question their ability to attract quality candidates.
In 2020 they ran some people that they never believed in a million years would get elected, and they did, and we werestuk them as totally inept and incapable members of Dáil Éireann. What sort of mentality does that show about the leadership? What sort of judgement do they actually possess? Is that the ceiling of candidate that they will actually run when they're aimingfor 50 or 60 seats?
Also, Violet-Anne Wynne should immediately resign her seat and let the people of Clare make a fresh choice, a new mandate based on all the circumstances.
SF will be as devastated as FF were when McSharry left. It wasn't demanded that he immediately resign his seat!
why are you trying to blame boards for the the resignation of a sf td who clearly says in her statement that it is because of internal party issues ?
look to your own brucie, look to your own
'Nothing to do with US or NATO?
You keep telling yourself that.
Only one Country invaded the sovereign Ukraine.
Only one major party on this island has been ambiguous in its position on that rogue nation.
Those of us taking that position are absolutely comfortable with it. Maybe you should have a word with yourself Francie.
SF are slowly edging towards a fall into a basket of deplorables that already contains the likes of Nigel Farage and Viktor Orban.
Mind how you go.....
I mistrust the 'world powers' Labre.
That's not my fault, that is theirs by their actions. I'm anti-war.
Criticising the US and NATO, looking to de-escalate the warmongering is not the same as supporting Putin. Go away with that simplistic argument.
Who's blaming boards? My comment explains itself. Stop trying to spin.
Even though she blames the local party and HQ, some are trying to blame the starting of a thread about her on boards as the reason for her resignation. It is hilarious.
They were wrong to speak against expelling that diplomat. Using the plight of the Ukrainian people to try score a point against a party you don't like is despicable but a common tactic among the government support.
We should stop laundering money for Putin. But thats a bridge too far for FF/FG I would imagine. Better to talk big but keep the money happy.
RIP to another good man, shot 11 times by PIRA criminal thugs who were welcomed home from prison by Sinn Fein TDs who partied into the night.
Men like Ben O'Sullivan risked their lives to defend the people of Ireland from the likes of the PIRA. We owe them a great debt.
Yes your comment is a weak and dangerous attempt deflect from the clear and well stated fact that sf are once again found out as a gang of thugs
Sinn Féin responds after TD Violet-Anne Wynne resigns from party over ‘psychological warfare’ - Independent.ie
Sinn Féin responded to queries on Friday but declined to address specific claims by Ms Wynne that she was pressured to hire certain staff, that it did not support her sufficiently while she is on maternity leave and that it used her “unplanned pregnancy” as a “further stick to beat me with”.
Looks like she isn't getting on with her local Cumann. A bit like Kate O'Connell's situation then (apart from Leo being very upset with her for supporting Coveney). Violet-Ann says she gets on well with her Dail colleagues.
A woman vilified on these very boards for her dishonesty while in SF is now to be believed before anyone has a chance to make a counter claim? 😁
Not belittling what may have happened here, but that just beats banagher.
You prefer that ex-IRA prisoners were welcomed home by dissident republicans?
Not so clever Blanch.
jasas francie did you hurt your self turning on her so quickly like that ?
Where did I turn on her?
Generally I like to wait for both sides of a story like this mike.
The hypocritical about face is not being carried out by me.
seems like she had some concerns about the way the party was being run around her no ?
In her statement Ms Wynne said: "I am supposed to be on some form of maternity leave and I asked Sinn Féin for someone who would be experienced enough to act as office manager. As it transpired I got a prominent member of Sinn Féin who is getting paid for a 41-hour week plus overtime but actually only works two and a half days/three days of the week”.
You are in a world of your own creation mo chara. You can't attack the woman for years and then pretend to care for her because it suits your agenda. Its not credible.
I would prefer that ex-IRA prisoners are not welcomed home at all by elected representatives. It sends the wrong message.
The EU motion that Sinn Fein opposed was nothing to do with the US or with NATO.
Keep shifting the goalposts to deflect - just showing yourself up again TBH
yes you did very much so
"now to be believed before anyone has a chance to make a counter claim? 😁"
heres statements from both sides im sure you've read it
Nothing hypocritical.
The woman should never have been selected to run for Sinn Fein as an anti-vaxxer who cheated a charity is an unsuitable candidate. However, while Sinn Fein may have belatedly woken up to this, bullying her out of the party is a second wrong that doesn't make a right.
To be clear, Sinn Fein were wrong to select a candidate who was wholly unsuited for the Dail who was an anti-vaxxer with a history of defaulting on rent. However, Sinn Fein are also wrong to bully that person out of the party when they woke up. Nothing hypocritical about that at all.
What would be hypocritical would be defending the woman 24/7 while a Sinn Fein representative and turning on her after she was bullied out of the party.
back to mo chara are we ? lol
as i poster in the other thread bruice
"your right i have no interest in VAW personally apart from her use and now abuse by sf as it again exposes the activities of your shady and dangerous organization"
further proof that sf hates to have its crimes examined ,
