New regulations new season....
Can redbull keep up the pace
Under Armour too.
They are also courtesy of Mick apparently he had them in his F2 Prema days and brought them with him.
I think I might have seen ads on Sky Sports for Under Armour with Mick in them.
His father had an association with Nike sometime in the 90's from recollection.
Fair play, but that's a new rule. The US is at war most of the time, should they not race there? Saudi is at war with Yemeni rebels, the UK has been at war in Afghanistan too.
No problem with the stance on Russia but I've no expectation that it will be a standard.
Andretti-Haas Racing has a nice sound to it. #history
I think HAAS should run under a yellow and blue colour livery. All they have to do is find a rich Ukrainian sponser. Some hope of that now I suppose.
Two grand prix in America and an American owner. How did Haas end up taking the Russian soup in the first place? Is there no Americans with a super licence?
Ukrainians (rich and poor) might be Russians by the time the season starts.
Hopefully not.
Mazepin to test tomorrow morning
Just remember folks, Mazepin has as much to do with Putin's invasion as Eddie Irvine did with the Omagh bombing. That is to say next to nothing at all.
This phenomenon of porpoising, which was known, is very interesting. I wonder what teams will perfect this.
I like the aero analysis of why it happens with the stalling effect.
Eddie Irvines da was friends with the leader of the Real IRA?
And Eddie Irvine has his car wrapped in the white lily right???
Haas today:
This is true, but he's only in Formula 1 because his seat was bought by a member of the Russian elite that helps to enable the regime there. Mazepin bears no responsibility for anything happening, but neither does he have any kind of right to drive an F1 car if that money tap runs dry or is cut off by sanctions.
If Kvyat was still driving in F1 for example there would be zero reason for him to be dropped, but the Mazepin situation is different. It's hard to see justification for him being kept on.
If the money dries up, where does thst leave the Haas team? A small team like that can hardly survive after dropping their title sponsor a month before the first race, without serious funding from elsewhere.
Russia officially cancelled
I will miss that yearly sleep.
Ohh
Delighted. Not like it was a great track anyway.
Bring back Turkey.
Andretti could joining Gene for the year or just take over the team outright. Otherwise a combination of Micks sponsors actually starting to sponsor the entire team rather than just him and Ferrari adding another driver/more parts etc.
Track to be 'artificially wettened' so Pirelli can get data on the larger wet tyres
Pleased to see that the Russian race has been cancelled. Slightly surprised at how quickly it was done too.
I think Vettel so publicly denouncing it and outright refusing to go kinda meant they had no real choice.
That's what track is apparently replacing the sochi race
I’ve seen a number of people suggest Andretti buying Haas but I don’t see how that helps anything? They need a sponsor not a new owner. Andretti would need to find a title sponsor to fund the operation too, it’s not like some billionaire owner coming in.
I suspect the explosion in F1’s popularity in the US from Drive to Survive and Verstappen finally putting a stop to Mercedes’ dominance means there will be opportunities for Haas to find new title sponsors - a lot has changed since they signed the deal with Uralkali. This is the reason Andretti are interested too, along with a second US GP being added to the calendar.
Side view of the Haas:
Maybe they should put 'Sponsor Us' stickers on the car.
A big yellow and sky blue livery would be awesome
