I see why your idea isn’t very popular , but if it comes down to money ( and it usually does) I could see them playing both and then playing less games in July or November..
The thing is if SA want out of the Rugby Championship then they'll leave no matter what NZ think. The Rugby Championship need to get Japan and Fiji in. The new qualification rules should strengthen the likes of Fiji, Samoa and Tonga and make them much more competitive.
I think what this will actually do is strengthen the argument for a world test Championship. I think it's inevitable, it is just a matter of waiting out the outrage and letting people get used to the idea.
The problem here is money. Can those new markets really replace the revenue that SA brought to the table? Whatever about NZ, who could be badly impacted, Australia sure as hell can’t afford a loss in revenue.
The 6 Nations have issued a statement basically rubbishing the claims of dropping Italy for SA.
South Africa have included teams from Georgia, Kenya and Zimbabwe in the Currie Cup later this year.

I wanted to drop twopence here because I have a petty viewpoint that I want to rant about and nowhere that'll facilitate it.
Personally, I don't want the Boks in the 6N because Bok fans and rugby journos have really never given the tournament any respect. Their record of dominance over the 6N teams probably gives them some reason for the arrogance but I only see their public embracing the competition negatively. If they're winning it'll be because it's too easy and they'll long for the days they played New Zealand every year. If they're losing it'll be because Northern Hemisphere rugby is slow and toxic and has bad refs. If they're playing in both competitions this will be the one they take less seriously. Having the Boks in the 6n (for me) would be a bit like having the welsh teams in the URC, the difference is that we need the Welsh teams in the URC, I don't think we need the Boks in the 6N.
Hadn't thought about these ex-international players for ages until I saw this suggestion come up on my YouTube feed.

Anyone watching Blackrock vs Terenure College? Schools Cup QF live on Premier Sports right now.
It's an utter demolition job from Blackrock so far. They're winning 22-0 after 22 minutes. Seems to be a big power mismatch between the two sides. Blackrock are winning all the collisions. Their footballing skills are very good as well. Some excellent offloading and support lines being run. They're also good at identifying space out wide and shifting it quickly. Their hooker is a flier. Keeping him out wide to use his speed in one of ones.
Poor Terenure just haven't been in it at all. Barely had possession and are getting smashed at the ruck and scrum.
