Can't see anything about Macron speaking on twitter. Doesn't seem sensible at this hour when France is in bed. Any announcement would be substantial for him to do so.
I'm more worried about what payload they are carrying. At this point, nothing would surprise me anymore.
Do they have any air defense that can even threaten these bombers?
I think someone mentioned that their are 2m Ukrainians in Russia, when they see the death and destruction in their homeland, I would presume it would drive them to desperate measures. Muslim extremists have resorted to suicide bombing, Putin must surely have thought of his personal security and how vulnerable he is to such an attack, maybe not today or tomorrow but ....
I'm following this Ukraine list on Twitter:
I think it was also linked earlier in this thread. It was mentioned several times on there
Any news on how Mariupol is? I heard Russian forces had landed on the beach at the start, but haven't heard much since. Are the defenders still holding out?
This is just crazy stuff
When they take over Paris will the rest of the world start to take notice?
I think the song "It's a little bit of history repeating" is very relevant, the 21st century is turning out to be the 20th all over again
I wonder if the Ukraine airforce are still active . It seems they had some good success today, picking their spots well.
This could be another opportunity.
The Ukrainian Air Force appears to still be at least partially operational, so a couple of their Su-27s could cause a whole lot of problems. Also, if there are any S-300 batteries still operational, they should be able to take them out, provided the bombers aren't escorted by a SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defence) package.
@animalinside do not post in this thread again
Mig 29s apparently scored some shoot downs earlier
3.6
Looks like the Flankers got in on the action as well:
Hard to know what they have left after last night.
I think the OP has mistaken the address as the one Macron did early yesterday
I've seen you post stuff like this before. Forgive my ignorance, but what is it supposed to mean?
Watching the Kiev live stream. All quiet so far.
He is just the boards twitterati
Thats from Chernobyl series. Radiation level 3.6 rentgen, thats what the meter was showing, but 3.6 was the max on the meter, when in reality it was waaaaayyyyy over that
It's from the HBO miniseries 'Chernobyl'.
Probably completely made up, but a nice thought
Monsieur Macron!
Le snore...
Eh?
You need to get up and adress la Nation.
Mon dieu, it is 2am. Why?
It has been announced on boards.ie.
"This “will take a long time to play out,” Blinken told the lawmakers, the person told CNN.
He told members that how long this goes “is mostly dependent on the Ukrainian people.” Blinken added: “Will they allow themselves to be subjected to a puppet government?""
Straight up saying they're leaving Ukraine to their fate?
5 aircraft shot down makes him an ace
Free pints for life in his local.
Macron: "This is not a crisis, it's a war"
Are you surprised? The Western allies have repeatedly said that they are not going to deploy troops. Such is the fear of engagement and consequent escalation, they aren't willing to even conduct any evacuation flights.
Ukraine will have to defend itself. That's why this is likely to be a bitter, bloody and drawn out conflict
I have a real sense that this IS WWIII
Been following this elsewhere today..some sporadic elevated levels seen on some measurement sites (and not on others) from everything going on...thinking of the elderly people who moved back into the exclusion zone. Dust could be dislodging from the land/forest (which went on fire last year and also raised levels) and a possible hit on a storage area(no4northwest area mentioned)...no images to confirm this from what I have seen as of yet.

It seems the plant is still a switching station for other forms of power for the capital. Hence of strategical importance.
