Out in the real world, where people have serious discussions about this sort of stuff, people don't throw the dummy out and demand certain key aspects of a discussion get ruled out, just because they can't handle it. Or don't like it.
It's only defined as "whataboutery" on forums like this, because the mods have no choice other than to appease the whinging mob. It's a bit ridiculous trying to have any sort of serious debate on Russia / NATO etc, when a bunch of whiny babies demand that you can't talk about the yanks etc.
Try writing any sort of decent book or lecture on a topic like this, without mentioning America or their exploits around the world. It's a crucial aspect of the narrative. Anyone who has studied Russia Vs the NATO/west would know this very well.
I don't really blame the mods btw, they have no choice other than to appease the many over the few. Because they know there would be bedlam on the forum if they didn't with people whinging and complaining. It's pretty much standard practice across many forums.
