Best estimates (based on geolocation and other reports) are that that is actually a Ukrainian fighter (MiG-29) which was taking a shot at a couple of Su-25s, which are low-flying ground attack airplanes. It fired two missiles, one lost lock and hit the ground, the other tracks horizontally.
I'm unsure if that matches the destroyed Su-25 shown earlier, but it does indicate that the Ukrainian Air Force wasn't entirely out of the fight.
Though obviously well behind reality, this site is routinely updated and tracking all -confirmed- lost equipment on both sides, not claims. Real figures are doubtless much higher.

The people protesting in Russia are doing so in the full knowledge they will be arrested and detained for an unknown period. Around 400 arrested so far in Moscow alone. That is brave.
This is the real anti-war movement. Not Mick Wallace with his cocktail parties at the Russian and Chinese embassies in Brussels. People taking their lives in their hands to stand up to their paranoid autocrat President invading and killing in what he says is a fraternal nation. Ukraine is nothing but real estate to Putin.

Ukraine are petitioning the UN to get the Russian Federation kicked off the Security Council as they weren't ratified property when USSR ceased to exist. They just inherited the seat. It will probably go no where as the Chinese will more than likely veto....but then again I didn't think Putin would be so stupid as to actually invade the Ukraine. Anything is possible.

I'm going to try and be precise with my language about it because there's the usual "side" bullshit. I was dead against the Iraq invasion (for what that's worth as a teenager), I think Israel are a disgrace but I loathe and will call out anything beyond that from certain people (holocaust denial, actual anti-Semitism). There are a lot of people who would identify with the anti-war stuff without knowing about the nuttier crap they get up to and come up with.
It's just a good example though of having an opinion which you then have to change what you hear to make fit. In the case of current events, as I've said, while there was the frozen conflict in the East of Ukraine there was absolutely zero chance of NATO letting Ukraine in. There is zero justification for what Russia are doing. The Yanks and some of the others have had an excellent read on things for almost a decade now. They've known since Crimea what was coming. The question is whether the time between has given Ukraine a fighting chance. Or did Putin realise that in another few years Ukraine would have the means to defend themselves from anything short of nukes and now is the time to strike.

I don't hate Russian people. But i do hate it's government, and anyone in favour of it and it's actions, can go to hell in my eyes. We all knew that if there was going to be a world war three, then Russia would be the cause of it. What happens when they attack Estonia Lithuania and Latvia, those countries are members of Nato after all.
Once a Nato member is attacked, then i see conflict being unavoidable unfortunately. Although i do hope an agreement is made, to avoid the use of nuclear weapons. It's just a very sad situation and Russia are to blame 100% for this. My thought and prayers are with the people of Ukraine right now.
