New regulations new season....
Can redbull keep up the pace
Fait play.
Much respect to Seb. He's been on the right side of a lot over the last few years.
Good man Seb. Should be easy for other drivers to jump with him, severe lack of balls on anyone who doesn't (unless the teams sort it quickly on their behalf).
Tricky enough spot for Mick Schumacher.
Might be tricky for Mazepin/Haas in general...
I really doubt anyone pays everything up front before the season starts. I'd say it's all paid in installments. Could be a tricky time for the Haas team. Ultimately they haven't done anything wrong but I wonder if they'll get caught up in the sanctions.
James Allen is an excellent F1 journalist and analyst but lacked the sort of quick wit needed for real time commentary. Legard was just completely and totally useless. I'd still take either of them over the insufferable Crofty though, at least they attempted to comment on the race rather than making up their own alternative reality to commentate on.
I'm sure Rich Energy will swoop in to save the day at any minute
I saw an article with a photo of a rich energy liveried 2022 car and the promise of a big announcement imminently. I was going to post it here from the craic but thought it was best not to give them the clicks.
Watching Sky Sports News here and they’re suggesting Seb isn’t the only driver feeling this way, he’s just the first to come out and say it!
EDIT: aaaaand right on queue….. they’re talking about Abu Dhabi again!
Not really. Ultimately he is a Ferrari driver so if Haas tried to threaten to sack him if he did refuse to race for them in Russia he would have absolutely nothing to loose.
Nothing to lose? Nothing except his drive in F1.
I'd expect Haas and its drivers to stay silent if they can avoid saying anything.
We can all play our part too by not watching the race in Russia. I certainly will not watch it if Putin does not pull his army out of Ukraine.
Fair play to Sebastian Vettel too. I hope all the other drivers also say and are thinking the same.
Here's a video of some of the "porpoising" that seems to be affecting a lot of teams.
That looks super uncomfortable 😐
Sounds like every team is suffering with that bumpy stuff on the straights more than others.
Haas are running a damper on their floor as well.
Could be another tough season for Haas...
With all of the talk of Haas, they are dropping Uralkali as title sponsor, and changing to an all white livery for testing tomorrow.
Uralkali are getting hit with sanctions. I wonder if Mazepin's seat is also at risk?
Edit: Beaten to it!
Not exactly the best way of putting that, considering all the US and British GPs that have carried on regardless of what their troops were doing overseas, but yes Russia should be dropped and I'm glad to see the back of the Russian colours on the Haas.
If its not just a cosmetic change, and the Uralkali/Mazepin money is done I wonder will Ilott be parachuted into the seat?
The US and British troops were not invading another sovereign country do. They were there to take down dictators in Iraq and Afganistan etc and fix them Countries unlike Russia who have invaded a Soverign European Country and threatening Nuclear war if anyone tries to help that country. Putin is a megalomaniac.
I really hope some of his country men , Women and cronies see sense and take him down. He is doing serious harm to Russia.
Oh and yes it is great to see HAAS remove the Russian colours from there car.
I'd say Haas were under huge pressure from every sponsor they had that was not owned by Mazepin to make a change or they were going to leave.
Not quite, been watching F1 since the 80s. Murray all the way! :-)
I've banished Legard from my memory. He was the absolute worst they had.
James Allen was great when he was in the Ted Kravitz role. But he overdid it as a commentator.
What other sponsors lol? 1+1 is the only other sponser I can see on the car and I still have no idea who that is.
German sponsor, mick Schumacher is a brand ambassador
I assume Haas won't have gotten much money from Uralkali yet this year? So if they are gone as a sponsor, are they properly screwed money-wise for the season? Can't see many sponsors jumping to replace them either...
1+1 is Micks sponsor they are a German online something something. They also sponsor Borussia Dortmund so pretty big.
Mick was placed at Haas by Ferrari and he is a ambassador for 1&1 so thats why their branding is much more heavily on Micks car.
One idea from Reddit was that 1&1 could actually sponsor the actual Haas team if the Russia link is totally purged. With Ferrari placing Ilott or Giovinazzi into the Haas beside Mick aswell as providing more money to the team until they attract more sponsors.
