No, none
nope
So your suggestion is full war between NATO and Russia?
Eur/rub is now trading flat on the day.
Not sure who will suffer more economically: russia or EU.
imo putin planned this 10y ago to kill the fiat currency debt addicted west.
There is alread missles hitting ukraine from inside Moldova (Transnistria) another Russian sponsored separatist region,
Moldova should go on and wipe the area off the map
Will Vlad even care about economic sanctions? Haven’t him and his inner circle built up massive cash and gold reserves?
He’s the vain type that Russia becoming a pariah state might be a bigger influencer. Immediately strip them of the champions league final, other sporting events, stop them competing at IOC level, stop them sponsoring tournaments, competitions etc. And take RT off western satellites, it’s their main propaganda weapon, why are western broadcasters carrying it?
It looks inevitable that energy will have to be sanctioned and it will probably grind to a halt. Why are the west dragging this out? Will they wait to be encircles Kiev to pull these measures?Hoping to muddle into a warmer March/April before it happens? At some stage the west will have to take the hit on gas supplies; I’m sure some of the Middle Eastern producers will be seeing the dollar signs in their rush to help out.
"Black smoke seen rising of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence Headquarters in Kyiv" - Reuters.
Strategic attacks first huh.
From the BBC. Lukashenko exposed as the lackey little bitch he is. I wonder if this has been on the cards since Putin gave him a hand last year.
I personally don't understand the argument that a nuclear war between NATO and Russia is preferable to doing nothing.
Because a nuclear war would mean nothing exists in the end. It's entirely pointless.
The most terrifying theory has to be that he is sick and therefore has nothing to lose, hopefully if that were the case saner minds would prevail and people around him would take matters in hand.
Funny clip. A reporter mixes up Hitler with Putin. Just picked this up on BBC News.
He's now a general in the Russian army
The powers that run this site and which have tollerated obvious Russian aligned posters, should be ashamed.
I largely guess that Putin's Russia won't be able to cover the whole Ukraine militarily and there will be pockets of resistance and this will be leading to a longer war, like we're seeing in Syria and other places. Boots on the ground from the West, definitely not, but military support in form of weaponry for Ukraine resistance and stay behind organizations by the Ukraine possibly yes. It might be the strategy of the West to keep Putin engaged in Ukraine as long as possible in an attempt for him not invading the Baltics or Poland.
Putin is very much fighting a historic war, he doesn't like what he can't control, and the Ukraine government being western in it's approaches, seeking friendship with the EU and NATO is something Putin doesn't like, - naturally.
Ultimately he wants a Ukraine similar to Belarus, - a dictatorship being friendly to him.
I fear that the Baltics will be another "Evacuation of Dunkirk" for NATO if they don't arm up in this area quickly.
💯 We are living naively if we think we wouldn't be a target given we let the yanks use Shannon.
The main thing I can see from the Ukraine is the the air defenses is what they really need it would be a far bloodier affair if Russia couldn't bomb at will.
I'd rather see Ireland adopt a more proactive defense rather than our current pray and hope tactics.
Colonel to be precise
Come on do you think anyone cares we've essentially 2 /3 people as mods for the whole site,
The posters and rereged appeared in every thread over the last 8 + years talking about genocide , massacres ,mass Graves ,the CIA dumping an old airliner in Ukraine to make it look like Russia shot down an airliner flight MH17.
Its not the mods fault they are literally holding the site together single handedly since the update
Well Russia doesn't seem to be put off by the prospect. You sound like some people 80 odd years ago. 'Well Poland hardly matters, we don't want to get into a war over them - France has gone now too....I suppose we could voice our displeasure.'
Putin will likely keep pushing until someone pushes back, then he will stop.
And by the way, my father fought against Germany in WW2. He was actually in France when it kicked off and someone from the British embassy he met, advised him to leave immediately. He did, and immediately joine the Fleet Air Arm and became a pilot.
Capital flight and lack of access to international funding will absolutely cripple Russia, he is either deranged or has under the table deals with China.
Who serves under putin ,
But not equal
Pretty good description of Lukashenko (a cowardly bitch), he ran away from a female led protest moment in Minsk to Moscow until Vlad told him to go back. He returned and let his police goons run around Minsk beating up women.
The same posters who have been spouting pro-Kremlin shite on here then started making up excuses for Lukashenko when he hijacked and Irish passenger jet last year.
Well he seems pretty proud about his Colonel rank from Putin, lol
There will be a lot of talk and a lot of noise and guesswork about what to do next. The only things we can believe in that context are confirmed actions as much of the rest is just irate people with brilliant ideas.
Dead Russian soldiers just outside Kharkiv. Warning graphic
Of course.
More like a mascot
I remember vividly news reports on Christmas Day 1989 with images of Nicolae Ceaușescu cowering in front of (his own) soldiers.
Really hope for a similar fate for Putin (and Lukashenko) as soon as is practical!
I would make the point that Hitler very much kept pushing after others pushed back. He was defeated but he didn't go meekly into it and neither will Putin. Also Poland was what triggered the allies getting involved in WW2. An aggressive response will guarantee massive piles of bodies, far far larger than what we are seeing right now. I am in no hurry to push for that.
Granted an actual response is needed. Make it clear that as long as Putin is in power now that people are not getting fed. Everyone with ties to Putin who is abroad should be crippled financially. Sure they will still have money in Russia but rich people are always greedy. Putin will not care about Russian soldiers dying en masse, he just won't and will press on regardless until defeated militarily. However if he loses home support he will fear for his own life pretty quick and if not he will be taken out.
yeah what was that about its ...? i mean why the exodus?
The truth is ..we will have to wait and see. Ireland is a tiny country which not much it can do bar offer hospitality to refugees.
