NATO activating and increasing defence plans

That's how you win in a video game.
Was caught in traffic during the 11AM news bulletin, and hearing the invasion klaxon go off in Kiev was genuinely haunting. Scary times.
Looks like I am going to be glued to this for however long it lasts. Which, hopefully won't be for long.
What happens now? Are further economic sanctions a credible response to offensive military actions from Russia?
That would lead to nuclear war. For sure. Guaranteed.
Putin must have had his fingers crossed behind his back when he said that.
There is a direct threat to the Baltic states and Poland.
We've been talking about it for years can called russophobes .
And now look ,lads did you hear Russia invaded ukraine
I don't think anyone showing support for Putin online could have imagined the sheer levels of insanity he really has.
I don't think RT has ever had a mask
Great info, thanks!
And are these attacks, missiles sent from Russia? Or would they be planes and helis?
Well I hoped this wouldn't happen and it would be stalemate for a while on the borders of the occupied regions but I've woken up to war in Europe, something I thought we were passed in this century.
Masks slipping all over the place
uk politician (minority view thus far):
The US intelligence leaks have been pretty spot on the last few weeks.
They said Putin wants to create a Russian empire. If so, it won't stop at Ukraine.
Yes, that's the western view. It's a valid view in it's own right, for western leaning people.
But I also think Russia's perspective has merit too, from their perspective.
Well, the view during the cold war was that both east and west wanted total domination over the other. So if we assume, as you are here, that Russia simply wants total domination over the west... then it is natural to come to the same conclusion with the west.
And of course, the Russians do tend to hold that view. Again they could point to quite a lot of evidence to back up their world view - although we're not allowed to talk about any of that evidence on this thread, because of mob rule on this forum. (even though it's a hugely legitimate part of the narrative)
I will repeat again, I do not like military intervention. So I don't like when either east or west uses military force to get what they want. But unfortunately, historically both sides do it.
That's why I think we've now entered a cold war 2.0
Russia thinks they are in the right. (and they don't really care if the west agrees with them)
And the west thinks they're right. (and they don't give a sh!t what Russia thinks either)
Obviously, I can understand why most people want to focus solely on the side that is presently engaged in the deed... which to be fair is completely understandable, and why I am getting so much flak right now. But, I choose to keep my eyes focused slightly more on the bigger picture. That's just in my nature to think that way.
Denying that there is a bigger picture here, to me is a somewhat obtuse mindset. (but like I said, perhaps understandable in the present circumstances)
North Korea level propaganda
There was a rumoured attempt on him a few years back when his "personal chauffeur" was killed in a "freak accident".
You couldn't make it up...

So are we just going to leave Ukraine be taken by Russia. It will not end there!
Whilst the EU and NATO don't want to escalate how can they stand back and leave an invasion occur.
Every action has consequences but do we not stand for what is "right and just" anymore.
Weak EU/US i suppose..

The dead eyed psychopath has finally did it. It is murder and he should face a war crimes tribunal for this.
That's how they win though, every time a Russian soldier is on the street, drop him.
At brutal cost mind.
Probably take out all military and key targets and keep escalating bit by bit.
No rush
Looks like the Ukrainian defence near Crimea has completely collapsed. Or else they are retreating to defend inwards.
RT is good for a laugh at the moment.
Mostly peaceful operation requested by Russians in Ukraine.
Plenty of timely cutaways in VT's shown on all other stations.
Putin playing chicken with the international community not being given much coverage for some reason.
Also stating that footage of damage from artillery strikes were recorded by Ukraine in advance to fool the international community.
